Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help ensure the smooth operation of our criminal defense practice, making a meaningful impact on clients&rsquo; lives.Duties<ul><li>Assist attorneys with case preparation by organizing and reviewing legal documents, evidence, and discovery materials.</li><li>Conduct comprehensive legal research across various practice areas including criminal law, family law, landlord-tenant law, and more, utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.</li><li>Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, contracts, and correspondence with precision and clarity.</li><li>Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate recordkeeping and easy retrieval of information.</li><li>Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.</li><li>Support litigation processes by reviewing documents for relevance and accuracy, preparing exhibits, and assisting with trial logistics.</li><li>Coordinate project management tasks related to multiple cases simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met through effective organization and communication.</li><li>Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, managing phone inquiries with excellent phone etiquette, and supporting overall office operations.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven paralegal experience in a law office setting with a strong understanding of litigation procedures.</li><li>Familiarity with criminal defense practices as well as other relevant areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), immigration law, securities law, workers&rsquo; compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law &amp; regulations, patent law, family law, landlord-tenant law, and contract drafting.</li><li>Proficiency in legal case management software including Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, PCLaw, and document review platforms.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough legal research and synthesize findings into clear reports or summaries.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.</li><li>Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading and transcription experience is highly valued.</li><li>Effective interviewing skills combined with professional communication abilities for client interactions.</li><li>Administrative experience supporting attorneys with executive administrative tasks such as calendaring and file management.
