What your Job will Be like:
The Secure Embedded Systems department (5327) focuses on the development of secure and resilient computing solutions critical for national 
Organization 5327 is seeking a motivated Product Design Engineer to support state-of-the-art printed circuit board (PCB) layout for large multi-disciplinary programs critical to national security. The successful candidate will support a team in the design, development, test, and deployment of novel embedded computing solutions. The successful candidate will have a background in, and understanding of, printed circuit board layout, test, and debug. 
You will work alongside world-class experts and use your skills in the following areas:<ul><li>
Layout of custom, state-of-the-art PCBs.</li><li>
PCB test and debug.</li><li>
Team with PCB designers, firmware, and software engineers to create embedded computing solutions.</li></ul> 
Qualifications we Require:<ul><li>
High School Diploma.</li><li>
Experience and understanding with printed circuit board layout.</li><li>
Must be a U.S. citizen.</li><li>
Successful drug screening.</li><li>
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance.</li></ul> 
Qualifications We Desire:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with 5 years of experience.</li><li>
Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) Certification.</li><li>
Certified Interconnect Designer Advanced (CID+) Certification.</li><li>
Certified Printed Circuit Designer (CPCD) certification.</li><li>
Experience with Siemens layout tools (PADS and/or Expedition).</li><li>
Experience with high-layer-count stack-ups (18+ copper layers).</li><li>
Experience with PCB layout, testing, and debugging for applications involving state-of-the-art FPGAs, highspeed, and large memory.</li><li>
Experience routing signals with high-speed data-rates (5+ gb/s).</li><li>
Experience routing modern memory topologies (DDR4/5).</li><li>
Experience with fine design features (3 mil trace &amp; space).</li><li>
Active DOE Q clearance.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers.</li></ul> 
Location/Work Arrangement:<ul><li>
Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico.</li><li>
Schedule is full-time, Monday &ndash; Friday 40-hour week.</li><li>
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite.</li></ul>
