POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an energetic, motivated, detail-oriented Research Assistant to support a SafeSpot intervention study which aims to develop, implement and evaluate an intervention to engage overdose survivors to use an overdose prevention hotline and reduce their unwitnessed substance use.
The Research Assistant will support the multidisciplinary research team by recruiting and retaining study participants, collecting study data through a variety of methods (questionnaires, qualitative interviews, focus groups, proof of concept trials), and additional day-to-day study activities. This is a primarily in-person position. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people who use substances and a strong interest in public health, harm reduction, and substance use.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<div>

Administrative:

Generate weekly recruitment and retention status reports for team meetings and take meeting notes
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Assist with presentations and manuscripts development</li></ul></div><div> 
Study Related Tasks:</div><div><ul><li>
Support coordination and the conduct of focus group sessions for intervention development, assist with content analysis</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Recruit and screen study participants admitted to the hospital and from post overdose programs, harm reduction organizations, and street outreach
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Conduct informed consent procedures, complete study assessments/qualitative interviews with participants and enter data</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Regularly contact participants to retain them for the duration of the study</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Maintain and update study documentation (e.g. study trackers, logs, progress notes, etc.)</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Assist with data management (e.g. data quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness)</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Participate in meetings and ongoing trainings</li></ul></div><div>

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

A minimum of a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree is required.</li></ul>

EXPERIENCE:

 1+ years of relevant work experience in research, data collection, or working with people who use substances is highly preferred</li></ul>

$15.14- $21.15

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Treat-to-Target Serum Urate versus Treat-to-Avoid Symptoms in Gout Trial (TRUST trial) will test two different treatment strategies for gout. The position will require approximately 21 hours/week. A 2-year commitment is strongly preferred.
The CRC I processes and ships research specimens and conducts patient recruitment, administers questionnaires, abstracts medical records, maintains patient databases, enters data into sponsor-specific electronic data capture forms, performs administrative tasks, and participates with the research team in preparation of data and other reports. He/she will also assist with audits and quality control.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul>
<li>
Identifies patients who are potentially eligible to enroll in the study by reviewing their information in patient lists and in the electronic medical record.</li>
<li>
Conducts telephone interviews and performs procedures to screen and enroll study participants including obtaining informed consent. Schedules patients for study visits.</li>
<li>
Utilizes study specific data collection and data documentation tools, completes clinical research assessments, and makes study related observations.</li>
<li>
Collects and organize patient data. Review data for quality and completeness based on established protocols</li>
<li>
Assists with the coordination of the collection, processing, organization, and storage of biological specimens in the systems</li>
<li>
May be responsible for IRB and regulatory submissions and maintenance of regulatory files. Maintains ongoing communications with the research coordinator and PIs for data collection needs.</li>
<li>
Adheres to Good Clinical Procedures (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as to protocol requirements to ensure validity of clinical research patient data.</li>
<li>
Other duties including send out mailings, taking inventory/ordering supplies, monitoring and setting up equipment.</li>
