Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2026-2027, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As an HR &amp; Talent Associate, you will serve as the school's primary recruiting engine. This is a newly created role at the heart of Boston Prep's talent strategy, and the person who fills it will be responsible for ensuring that every open seat on our staff is filled by a mission-aligned, high-quality candidate. 
This role has a focus on talent acquisition and recruitment strategy. Additionally, this role will support core HR operations in partnership with the Director of HR &amp; Talent. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by people, loves building relationships, and wants to make a measurable difference in who teaches and works in Boston's schools.

Essential Job Functions: 
Recruitment Strategy &amp; Pipeline Development:
<ul>
<li>Partner with the Director of HR &amp; Talent to execute Boston Prep's annual recruitment strategy for instructional and non-instructional staff</li>
<li>Build and maintain a robust talent pipeline of mission-aligned candidates through consistent, relationship-based outreach</li>
<li>Identify and track sourcing channels by effectiveness (quality of hire, time-to-fill, diversity of candidate pool) and adjust strategy accordingly</li>
<li>Research and recommend new sourcing partnerships, platforms, and strategies to continuously improve recruitment outcomes</li>
<li>Represent Boston Prep at college and university career fairs, education job fairs, and community hiring events throughout the Boston area and New England region</li>
</ul>
Partnerships &amp; Sourcing Channels:
<ul>
<li>Cultivate and manage relationships with teacher residency programs (e.g., Match Teacher Residency, Boston Teacher Residency), alternative certification programs, and DESE-approved licensure pathways</li>
<li>Manage job postings across all relevant platforms, including LinkedIn and school-specific networks</li>
<li>Develop and maintain a talent database of past applicants, silver medalists, and warm leads for proactive outreach when positions open</li>
</ul>
Full-Cycle Recruiting &amp; Candidate Experience:
<ul>
<li>Manage the end-to-end hiring process for assigned roles, from screening through offer acceptance</li>
<li>Screen resumes and conduct initial phone and video screens with candidates</li>
<li>Coordinate and schedule all interview rounds, including demo lessons and interviews</li>
<li>Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the process, ensuring timely, warm, and professional communication that reflects Boston Prep's culture</li>
<li>Collect and synthesize interview feedback and support hiring managers in making well-informed, equitable hiring decisions</li>
<li>Support managers with verbal offers and negotiations in coordination with the COO</li>
<li>Actively work to recruit a diverse staff that reflects and honors Boston Prep's student community</li>
<li>Partner with the Director to identify and mitigate bias in recruitment practices and job descriptions</li>
</ul>
Recruitment Data &amp; Reporting:
<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) for all open roles</li>
<li>Track and report on key recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, and candidate diversity</li>
<li>Prepare a quarterly recruiting dashboard for the Director summarizing pipeline status, upcoming interviews, and open roles</li>
<li>Conduct post-hire surveys with new employees to gather feedback on the recruiting experience and identify improvements</li>
</ul>
HR Project Support:
<ul>
<li>Support new staff orientation and other HR sessions, including logistics and materials preparation</li>
<li>Process offboarding documentation and support separation logistics</li>
<li>Support HRIS data entry (new hires, status changes, terminations) and generate reports as needed</li>
<li>Support CORI/SORI background check and I-9 processing</li>
<li>Support various HR projects and priorities</li></ul> 


Additional Expectations and Responsibilities:

<li>This is a five day a week onsite position</li>
<li>Additional responsibilities, including but not limited to, may involve tasks such as supervising lunch periods, managing swipe and front desk duties, and other school duty assignments.</li>

Education, Qualifications, and Certifications/Licensure:

Education:

<li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Education, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul> 


Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>1&ndash;3 years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, or a people-facing role; experience in a school or nonprofit setting a strong plus</li>
<li>Demonstrated enthusiasm for relationship-building, networking, and representing an organization externally</li>
<li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume recruiting pipeline across multiple open roles simultaneously</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite</li>
<li>Commitment to confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive candidate and employee information</li>
<li>Genuine commitment to Boston Prep's mission and to educational equity for students in Boston</li></ul> 


Preferred:

The salary range for this role is $54,400 - $59,703. Final compensation will be based on years of experience.

As a Director of Human Resources &amp; Talent we expect you to build and lead a best-in-class HR function for our school community. This is a newly created role that will be instrumental in shaping the employee experience, attracting mission-aligned talent, and ensuring legal compliance under Massachusetts state law and DESE charter regulations. 
The Director will manage an HR &amp; Talent Associate and jointly manage the Business Manager along with the CFO. This position will partner closely with school leadership to support a staff of approximately 150 educators and professionals. 
Essential Job Functions: 
Talent Acquisition &amp; Recruitment:
<ul>
<li>Develop an annual recruiting calendar aligned to the school's hiring timeline</li>
<li>Manage full-cycle recruitment for instructional and non-instructional staff, including job posting, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer management with support of HR and Talent Associate</li>
<li>Maintain current talent pipeline, partnerships, alternative certification programs, and local teacher preparation programs</li>
<li>Support the design and implementation of an onboarding program for new team members</li>
</ul>
HR Operations &amp; Compliance
<ul>
<li>Ensure school-wide compliance with Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) governing employment, CORI/SORI background check requirements, and DESE educator licensure requirements</li>
<li>Oversee accurate maintenance of personnel files, I-9 records, and educator licensure tracking in compliance with DESE requirements</li>
<li>Manage all HRIS data entry, reporting, and system integrity (experience with platforms such as ADP or Bamboo HR preferred)</li>
</ul>
Employee Relations &amp; Culture:.
<ul>
<li>Serve as a trusted, confidential resource for staff on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution</li>
<li>Lead investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, or misconduct in compliance with state and federal obligations</li>
<li>Support the Title IX Coordinator in documenting and investigating complaints, maintaining required records, and coordinating Title IX training for staff and students</li>
<li>Partner with school leadership to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with Boston Prep's values</li>
<li>Support staff recognition programs, employee wellness initiatives, and engagement surveys</li> 
</ul>
Performance Management &amp; Professional Development
<ul>
<li>Support the annual performance evaluation cycle for all staff</li>
<li>Partner with leadership to support organizational initiatives and key priorities</li>
<li>Manage the progressive discipline process, performance improvement plans, and separation procedures</li>

Team Leadership

<li>Partner with organizational leadership on organizational priorities and school initiatives</li>
<li>Directly supervise, develop, and mentor the HR &amp; Talent Associate and the Business Manager</li>

You believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the content of your class. As a member of the High School team, you are responsible for the following: 
Service Delivery
