Summary:</b></h4><p>
The Middle School Support Assistant provides comprehensive clerical, communication, and operational support to ensure safe and efficient daily school operations. Essential duties include supporting building leaders, serving as a primary point of contact for the building; composing, compiling, and distributing school communications; processing attendance and athletics-related requests and transactions; supporting required reporting; maintaining student records and databases; supporting student open enrollment and registration; assisting administrators and counselors; and providing backup support to the School Office Manager and healthroom operations.</p><p></p><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Responsibilities:</b></h4><ul><li>
Serve as a primary point of contact for the building by providing front-office reception services, supporting visitor management and building security procedures, responding to inquiries, and directing individuals to appropriate staff in accordance with district policies and procedures.</li><li>
Maintain student records in student information systems. Ensuring student data, reporting, and attendance compliance by reviewing attendance records for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring parent/guardian information is properly documented, assisting with follow-up on attendance concerns, and verifying data for required reporting periods.</li><li>
Provide clerical and operational support to the school community by providing administrative support to school leaders, managing information, coordinating routine processes, collecting and filing student permission slips, supporting daily school operations, and responding to inquiries from students, families, staff, community members, and district personnel.</li><li>
Provide backup support to the School Office Manager and the student healthroom, as directed, during staff absences or high-volume times. Supporting essential operational, clerical, and student care needs, including emergency functions, assisting with documentation and communication, and following established health, safety, and emergency procedures.</li><li>
Oversee student office assistants as directed.</li><li>
Assist counselors and/or administrators, including supporting students when a counselor or administrator is not available, retrieving students from classes, and scheduling appointments.</li><li>
Support school community communications by composing, distributing, and maintaining communication tools and resources.</li>
Coordinate athletic events by managing the end-to-end athletic registration process; collecting and maintaining student physical documentation; scheduling event transportation; supporting administrators with the hiring and onboarding of e<li>tra-duty staff; coordinating and maintaining volunteer eligibility; scheduling officials; and tracking payments.</li><li>
Coordinate student enrollment activities by supporting student transitions and prospective family engagement, scheduling visits and events, responding to inquiries, preparing materials, and maintaining related information in accordance with established procedures.</li><li>

Summary:</b></h4><p>
The Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) K-12 Teacher Librarian (TL) is a: teacher and instructional planning partner; information professional; technology and innovation specialist; literacy advocate; involved in all aspects of the teaching and learning process. In addition to managing the day-to-day library operations and creating and maintaining a blended, responsive and aligned collection, the TL proactively partners with instructional staff to develop and deliver multiple literacies and essential 21st Century Skills through the administration and implementation of innovative library programming and services and collaborative teaching.</p><p></p><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Responsibilities:</b></h4><p></p><ul><li>
Participate, when appropriate, in collaborative decision making at the school.</li><li>
Plans and conducts formal and informal (point-of-need) professional development for staff that empowers teachers to confidently integrate information literacy skills, digital tools and resources, and essential 21st Century Skills into content areas;</li><li>
Ability to lead and help others make sense of change and adjust to change;</li><li>
Develop, lead and support face-to-face, online, and blended professional development.</li><li>
Model and support teachers on purposeful design in the lesson/project planning process using curricular frameworks and concepts including but not limited to: Design Thinking, Project-Based Learning (PBL), SAMR, Blended Learning, 1:Web devices.</li>

Required:</b></p>
<ul><li>Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process with a School Librarian endorsement (must upload license or in process documentation to application).</li><li>
Applicants who hold a Colorado teaching license and enroll in a School Librarian program upon hire will be considered.</li><li>
The endorsement must be acquired within 36 months.</li><li>
Completed and submitted BVSD on-line application.</li><li>
The READ Act SB 19-199 (PDF) and SB22-004 (PDF) requires that all Colorado teachers who provide literacy instruction to students must earn a &ldquo;READ Act Designation&rdquo; by meeting specific requirements. If you are hired for a position requiring the READ Act Designation, you will be required to obtain it.</li></ul><br>
<p><b>Preferred:</b></p>
Technology skills that are aligned with District Technology Plan &amp; Vision; must acquire within 12 months of hire. Master's degree in school library media or library science or currently enrolled in a program and previous e<ul><li>perience in teaching.</li><li>
