<div></div><div><b>Youth Development Professional III- 21st Century Grant</b></div>
<div><br>
Under the limited supervision of the Executive Director, the Youth Development Professional III responsible for assisting with the development and effective operation of a quality school age tutoring under the 21st Century Grant.<br>
<br>
<br>
<b>Essential Functions:</b></div>
<ul><li>Perform all job responsibilities in compliance with current state licensing requirements for school age childcare centers; address non-compliance issues as needed.</li>
<li>Within guidelines established by the Executive Director, effectively deliver tutoring services to PFS Migrant Students identified by DOE.</li>
<li>Directly supervise children and youth within guidelines established by Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Delaware, and in compliance with applicable state licensing regulations.</li>
<li>Help develop and maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty and administrators.</li>
<li>Present yourself as a positive role model for youth at all times.</li>
<li>Consistently adhere to the policies and practices of BGCDE.</li>
<li>Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs in the community.</li>
<li>Assume other tasks, assignments and responsibilities as needed or directed.</li>
</ul>

<b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</b></div>
<ul><li>Must possess or have previously possessed a teacher certification or paraprofessional certification within the last months.</li>
<li>20 years of age or older</li>
<li>Must be able to pass an FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per Delacare regulations.

<b>ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS: </b>Environmental and working conditions vary from indoors to outdoors; various meeting locations in and out of the Club; occasional statewide travel (e.g. training). Employees are subject to transfer from one department to another and from one club/school site to another as the needs of the organization change.<br>

<b>PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:</b></div>
<ul><li>Maintain a high energy level.</li>
<li>Be comfortable working with children ages 6-12 in varying levels of physical activity.</li>
<li>Regularly speak clearly and hear the spoken word.</li>
<li>Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds when preparing rooms for activities.</li>
<li>Typically bends, stoops, walks and sometimes runs on a regular basis while interacting with children in various activities throughout the day.</li>
<li>Ability to perform duties effectively under stressful conditions; ability to make decisions quickly and accurately with tact and impartiality.</li>
<li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.</li>

<div></div><div><b>Position Summary</b></div>
<br>
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Child Care Director is responsible for the planning, development and effective implementation of the operation of a quality early care childcare program that complies with current Delacare and Delaware STARS rules and regulations. The position includes program management and staff supervision. The position requires knowledge of various educational approaches, software and other educational materials.<br>
<br>
<b>Essential Functions</b></div>
<ul><li>Manage day-to-day operation of the licensed preschool/childcare and summer camp program.</li>
<li>Interpret and maintain compliance with current state licensing requirements for early care childcare centers; address non-compliance issues as needed.</li>
<li>Control expenditures against an assigned budget; recommend income and expense projections for assigned areas of responsibility; assist with the financial development of the childcare program.</li>
<li>Ensure safe implementation of all childcare activities including the condition of equipment and facilities,</li>
<li>age-appropriate activities and appropriate use of equipment and supplies.</li>
<li>Directly supervise children and youth within guidelines established by Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Delaware, and in compliance with applicable state licensing and Delaware Starts regulations.</li>
<li>Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians concerning programs, schedules, developmental progress</li>
<li>(including behavioral issues), payments, etc.</li>
<li>Work with families to generate individual learning goals for children</li>
<li>Work closely with Club Childcare Director and Unit Director to establish clear objectives for lessons, units and projects and communicates.</li>
<li>Organize and lead activities to promote physical, mental, and social development such as games, arts, crafts music and storytelling.
</li><li>Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students at varying needs and interests.</li>
<li>Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor skills and safety.</li>
<li>Regularly observe, evaluate and document children&rsquo;s&rsquo; performance, behavior and social development and physical health.</li>
 <li>Conduct assessments to determine children&rsquo;s development levels, needs and potential and work through</li>
 <li>Ages and Stages and also partnering with the local school district if needed</li>
<li>Within established organizational guidelines, develop and maintain systems for accurately tracking attendance, payments, health checks, and medical issues, and other related information.</li>
<li>Complete and submit reports and perform other administrative tasks as needed or directed, including purchase of Care reimbursements.
</li><li>Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs in the</li>
<li>community.</li>
<li>Assume other tasks, assignments and responsibilities as needed or directed.</li>
<li>Support and contribute to the success of other staff members.</li>
</ul>

<b>Qualification and Education Requirements</b></div>
<ul><li>Twenty (20) years of age or older</li>
<li>Experience working with preschool and school age children</li>
<li>Must be able to pass an FBI clearance, State</li>
<li>of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse</li>
<li>Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per Delacare</li>
<li>regulations.</li>
<li>High school diploma or its equivalency recognized by</li>
<li>the Delaware Department of Education and TECE 1 and TECE 2</li>
<li>One (1) year of full time experience (must be</li>
<li>equivalent to 1,000 hours) working with either preschool or school-age children.</li>
<li>Early Childhood Administrator Certificate</li>
