As a Senior HR Business Partner at Brabo, you will be pivotal in steering the strategic and tactical execution of our HR and Payroll initiatives for clients blending seamless service delivery via HRIS systems and your HR expertise. Reporting to the COO, this role demands a proactive approach in engaging our HRIS and ASO client base both digitally and in person within Massachusetts. Your responsibilities will extend beyond administrative oversight to actively participating in the hands-on activities essential to our growing client base.<ul><li>
Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary HR contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong, trusting relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.</li><li>
Strategic HR Leadership: Provide strategic HR guidance and support to client organizations, including advising on best practices, compliance, and innovative HR solutions.</li><li>
Operational Excellence: Oversee and manage daily HR operations for clients, ensuring seamless execution of payroll, benefits administration, and other HR services.</li><li>
Knowledge Sharing: Act as a subject matter expert in HR, sharing insights and best practices with peers to elevate the overall knowledge and capability of the team.</li><li>
Project Management: Lead and contribute to HR projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and new service offerings, ensuring timely and successful delivery.</li><li>
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve complex HR issues and client escalations, providing thoughtful solutions that align with both client needs and company policies.</li><li>
Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR metrics and analytics to provide clients with insightful reporting, helping them make informed decisions about their workforce strategies.</li><li>
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing HR services and client engagement, proposing and implementing changes that drive increased efficiency and value.</li><li>

Requirements:
<ul><li>Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5 years of direct HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner role, along with a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.</li><li>
Cultural Development: Proven experience in building and enhancing company culture and increasing employee engagement within diverse organizations.</li><li>
Communication Excellence: Superb communication skills are essential, including effective facilitation, persuasive listening, and exceptional writing capabilities.</li><li>
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking for problem-solving and strategic decision-making.</li><li>
Coaching and Influencing: Expertise in coaching and facilitation, with a proven track record of influencing peers and senior leaders across the organization.</li><li>
HR Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HR programs, practices, and legal compliance, with a strong understanding of state and federal employment regulations.</li><li>
Strategic HR Initiatives: Experience in supporting and advising business leaders on strategic, multi-year HR initiatives or projects that impact the organization-wide people strategy.</li><li>
Partnership and Alignment: A history of effective partnership with internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively improve organizational culture and employee engagement.</li><li>

About the Role 
The Payroll and HRIS Specialist serves as a frontline operator and problem-solver for Brabo&rsquo;s client base, owning the day-to-day execution of payroll and HRIS functions within the Paylocity platform. This role is not just transactional&mdash;it is client-facing, fast-paced, and requires strong judgment, adaptability, and accountability. 
You will support a diverse portfolio of clients across industries including healthcare, hospitality, construction, nonprofits, and professional services. Success in this role means balancing high-volume, deadline-driven payroll processing with real-time client support and system optimization. 
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a service environment, is highly tech-savvy, and wants to grow into advanced HRIS, implementation, or HR Business Partner work over time.

Key Responsibilities 
Payroll Execution &amp; Ownership 
<ul><li>
Process and submit weekly, biweekly, and off-cycle payrolls with accuracy and timeliness</li><li>
Own payroll deadlines across multiple clients, ensuring compliance and consistency</li><li>
Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and funding concerns proactively</li><li>
Support final pay calculations, PTO payouts, and earnings adjustments</li></ul>
Client Support &amp; Relationship Management 
<ul><li>
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients via Salesforce, Slack, and email</li><li>
Manage a high volume of client inquiries with professionalism, urgency, and clarity</li><li>
Build strong working relationships with clients by providing reliable, solution-focused support</li><li>
Translate technical system functionality into practical guidance for clients</li></ul>
Payroll Platform Expertise 
<ul><li>
Act as a functional expert across Paylocity modules, including:</li><li>
Payroll &amp; Tax</li><li>
Time &amp; Attendance</li><li>
Onboarding &amp; ATS</li><li>
Benefits &amp; Open Enrollment</li><li>
Performance &amp; LMS</li><li>
Expense Management</li><li>
Communities &amp; Employee Engagement tools</li><li>
Configure and troubleshoot system setup (earnings, deductions, PTO, workflows, etc.)</li><li>
Support reporting needs using Custom Report Writer and dashboards</li><li>
Assist with integrations (401k, GL, benefits carriers, etc.)</li></ul>
Compliance &amp; Issue Resolution 
<ul><li>
Partner with agencies and vendors to resolve tax notices and discrepancies</li><li>
Ensure payroll and HR processes align with federal, state, and local regulations</li><li>
Support clients with audits, reporting, and compliance-related inquiries</li></ul>
Operations &amp; Process Improvement 
<ul><li>
Adapt daily priorities to balance recurring payroll deadlines with ad hoc client needs</li><li>
Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements</li><li>
Participate in internal training, 1:1s, and team collaboration</li><li>
Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge-sharing across the team</li><li>
Support implementations or special projects as needed</li></ul>

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
2+ years of experience in payroll, HRIS, or client service environment</li><li>
Hands-on experience with Paylocity (or similar HRIS/payroll platform required)</li><li>
Strong technical aptitude and comfort navigating multiple systems simultaneously</li><li>
Experience managing client relationships or high-volume service requests</li><li>
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)</li><li>
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and adapt quickly</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel strongly preferred)</li></ul>
Preferred: 
<ul><li>
FPC or CPP certification (or working toward certification)</li><li>
Experience with integrations, reporting, or system configuration</li></ul>
Work Environment
