The Research Technician will perform a variety of routine to moderately complex tasks in a biochemical and microbiological research laboratory. Typical examples: performs experiments and protocols under direction; prepares common lab reagents and buffers, orders lab consumables; maintains laboratory equipment; provides day-to-day direction to graduate and undergraduate students and trains them in routine lab procedures; maintains facilities; and performs data analyses. Other activities available depending on interest and experience.</div><div></div><div>
This is a one-year position.</div><div></div><div>
Job Description:</div><ul><li><div>
With direction, performs clearly delineated experiments and protocols. Examples: may purify and assay enzymes; may crystallize proteins, may perform molecular cloning, may assemble and study liposomes, may culture bacteria or other microbes, and screen and amplify bacteriophages. 50%</div></li><li><div>
Maintains and orders laboratory supplies. Maintains laboratory equipment. 10%</div></li><li><div>
Accurately records routine to moderately complex data; summarizes results; performs analyses. 15%</div></li><li><div>
May assist in providing day-to-day direction, training and assistance to student workers. 15%</div></li><li><div>

Research Technician - Biochemistry

<div><div>The Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Study is seeking to hire a Research Associate. The Research Associate contributes to all phases and aspects of research projects as a member of interdisciplinary social science research teams. Primary responsibilities include grant writing, research design, data collection and analysis, and managing the write-up of research reports.</div><div></div><div>
Key Responsibilities:</div><ul><li><div>
Independently conducts project research within agreed upon parameters. Recommends experimental design to PIs/Co-PIs and other team members. 30%</div></li><li><div>
Collects and/or oversees collection of relevant data utilizing a variety of techniques, e.g. synthesizing published data; conducting interviews; ordering and analyzing transcriptions; deploying online surveys; or observing and recording focus groups. 20%</div></li><li><div>
Analyzes a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative data. 20%</div></li><li><div>
Assists in all phases of research: from the development of grant proposals, research design and creation of instruments to the preparation of final manuscripts. 20%</div></li><li><div>
