About the Role
In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000&ndash;100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer who will ensure our student- and staff-facing software is reliable, accessible, and a joy to use.
You will be a core partner to Engineering: shaping test plans, expanding automated test coverage, and collaborating with engineers to write effective unit and integration tests. You&rsquo;ll help us balance the agility needed to ship impactful features with the discipline of strong quality practices and continuous improvement.
This role is on the Systems team and reports directly to the Senior Director, Engineering.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
Test automation &amp; collaboration with engineers (40%)<ul><li>
Build and maintain UI and API automation (Playwright preferred).</li><li>
Partner with engineers to write/expand unit and integration tests and improve testability.</li><li>
Increase automation coverage and reliability (flakiness control, data management).</li></ul>
Test planning &amp; manual execution (35%)<ul><li>
Design and execute test plans and test cases for web and API features across key integrations (Salesforce, Canvas, Pathify, LinkedIn, Zoom).</li><li>
Perform cross-browser/device and accessibility (WCAG) testing; log clear, actionable defects.</li></ul>
CI/CD quality gates, release verification, and bug triage (15%)<ul><li>
Own quality checks in GitHub Actions/CI; implement sensible gating and fast feedback loops.</li><li>
Coordinate regression and release verification for scheduled launches; drive root-cause analysis.</li></ul>
Data validation &amp; process improvement (10%)<ul><li>
Validate data flows with SQL; use logs/observability to detect regressions.</li><li>
Document test cases, patterns, and QA standards; champion pragmatic process improvements.</li><li>

Requirements 
 
Minimum Requirements<ul><li>
3+ years in QA/software testing, or 2+ years of professional software engineering experience. At least 1 year working with test automation.</li><li>
Tools/Skills: Playwright (or Cypress), API testing, Database, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions/CI, accessibility testing (WCAG).</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience</li><li>
Experience with performance testing, observability (e.g., logs/metrics), and test data management.</li><li>
Familiarity with Jira and structured defect triage.</li><li>
Familiarity with REST API tools (e.g., Postman).</li><li>
Basic experience with Python or Ruby on Rails, and Heroku environments and modern web app architectures.</li><li>

Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead, each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking.
Starting salary within the range is determined by role scope and qualifications, with new hires starting at the lower end to allow for growth with performance. Braven does not base compensation on individual candidate salary expectations and is committed to maintaining internal equity. The starting salary range for this role in Chicago is $92,000-$101,100. This is based on a 50-hour work week. This is a full-time, regular, exempt, and benefits eligible position where you will be working at 100% capacity.

About the Role
In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000&ndash;100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate Director, Talent Acquisition and Operations, who will be a critical individual contributor on the People Team. This role is responsible for ensuring a seamless, equitable, and high-quality employee experience across the full talent lifecycle. The Associate Director will leverage operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, and people-centered problem-solving to support hiring managers, candidates, and employees. In addition, this role will manage a small portfolio of searches, supporting the full-cycle recruitment process from sourcing through offer.
This role is on the People and Operations team and reports directly to the Director, Talent Acquisitions.
What You'll Do
Talent Operations &amp; Employee Lifecycle Management (50%)<ul><li>
Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge-sharing resources for consistent, scalable talent operations.</li><li>
Own the interview coordination process, ensuring speed, consistency, accuracy, and a world-class candidate experience.</li><li>
Support compliance efforts, audits, and reporting in partnership with People Operations, Finance, and Legal</li><li>
Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and deliver operational excellence across the talent lifecycle.</li><li>
Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks in people processes and proactively propose solutions to the Director Talent Acquisitions while comfortable building from zero and energized by the absence of existing playbooks.</li></ul>
Systems, Data &amp; Process Improvement (30%)<ul><li>
Serve as the subject matter expert for the recruitment technology ecosystem (e.g., Workday and Workable) managing configurations, integrations, troubleshooting, and user support.</li><li>
Approach broken processes with curiosity while mapping, diagnosing, and fixing inefficiencies with a systems-thinking mindset.</li><li>
Drive innovation in recruitment technology by identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, integrate new tech and AI, and enhance overall efficiency.</li><li>
Build dashboards, analyze KPIs, and co-translate recruiting data into actionable recommendations that inform strategic decisions.</li></ul>
Talent Acquisition &amp; Hiring Support (20%)<ul><li>
Manage a small portfolio of searches, supporting end-to-end hiring processes including job setup, interview logistics, candidate communications, and offer coordination.</li><li>
Ensure data accuracy, process consistency, and timely movement of candidates within the Applicant Tracking System.</li><li>
Deliver an equitable, candidate-centered hiring experience that reflects Braven's values</li><li>
Co-lead enablement sessions on interview best practices and hiring processes, earning trust and building strong relationships with hiring managers across functions.</li></ul> 

Requirements 
 
Minimum Requirements<ul><li>
At least 3 - 5 years of experience in talent operations, HR operations, recruiting operations, or a related field.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience supporting hiring processes and partnering with hiring managers in a fast-paced or growing organization</li></ul>

About the Role
In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate Director, Project Management to serve as a project manager of multiple high-impact, cross-functional projects on the Product team at Braven. As a member of the Project Management subteam, you will utilize the Agile methodology, Scrum, and Kanban frameworks to create and lead cross-functional project teams, which may also include complex technical projects, in order to reach key project milestones and ultimately, high-impact deliverables that will allow Braven to meet its ambitious goals.
This role is on the Product team and reports directly to the Head of Program Enablement.
What You&rsquo;ll Do
Support, manage, and execute the life-cycle of a portfolio of multiple short- and long-term cross-functional projects, ensuring excellence in all aspects of service delivery (85%)<ul><li>
Manage end-to-end operational and tactical aspects of cross-functional projects of varying size, scope, technical level, organizational impact, and risk.</li><li>
Create and maintain quality project documentation and other assets, including the project charter, project schedule, and lessons learned.</li><li>
Evaluate assigned projects and plans utilizing the Agile methodology and Scrum and Kanban frameworks.</li><li>
Identify and gain agreement on project requirements, objectives, scope, timing, and resources with organizational stakeholders.</li><li>
Effectively communicate and consult with product owners, product managers, project sponsors, and project contributors to ensure consistency and alignment on the project methodologies for successful project delivery.</li><li>
