POSITION SUMMARY</b></h2><p>
The Housing Assistant I position provides customer service and clerical assistance at the front desk for potential and existing clients, members of the public, and vendors. The position reviews submitted documents for completeness and provides administrative support for the Housing Staff.</p><div></div><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>

Essential Function Summaries</b></h2><ul><li>
Greet and assist lobby visitors.</li><li>
Answer phone calls and direct the calls to appropriate parties.</li><li>
Assist customers with RENTCaf&eacute;.</li><li>
Review submitted forms for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all relevant required fields and supporting documentation are included.</li><li>
Record customer interactions, details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken.</li><li>
Run reports and confirm data is correct. Transfer data from database reports into spreadsheets and verify information. File and retrieve documents, records, and reports.</li><li>
Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including voicemail, faxes and email.</li><li>
Prepare and/or send mail/email responses to routine inquiries.</li><li>
Provide clerical assistance to Housing staff as needed.</li><li>
Keep lobby area clean and presentable for visitors.</li><li>

 <b>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS</b></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
Required Education and Experience</b></h2><div><b>
Education: </b>High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Experience: </b>2 plus years of experience in Customer Service with face to face contact.</div><div></div><div><b><i><br>
Bremerton Housing Authority has the discretion to accept any other equivalent combination of education and experience when relevant.</i></b></div><div></div><div><b><br>
Computer Skills: </b>Experienced user of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.</div><div>
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Other Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license for use in Washington State with the continued ability to be covered under the Housing Authority&rsquo;s auto insurance policies.</li></ul><div></div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>

WORK ENVIRONMENT</b></div><div>
This is primarily an office position. The employee primarily sits at a desk, but has the opportunity to move about at will. There may be exposure to hostile clients or clients who may have difficulty with basic life skills or have trouble communicating. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various types of office equipment. The employee will occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.</div><div></div><div><br>
