Our mission is to enrich the beauty and value of every client&rsquo;s property through thoughtful landscape design that elevates everyday living, while exceeding expectations with clear communication, creative solutions, and exceptional quality.Position OverviewBret-Mar Landscape is seeking an Experienced Landscape Designer / Project Coordinator to support our high-end residential projects from design development through installation. This role is ideal for a mid-level professional who enjoys both creative design and the technical, organizational side of preparing projects for construction.This position focuses on design development, take-offs and estimating, construction documentation, and material coordination. While client interaction may occur for design clarification, this role does not include sales responsibilities or commission-based work.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Development &amp; Documentation<ul><li>Develop thoughtful residential landscape designs aligned with Bret-Mar&rsquo;s design standards</li><li>Translate design concepts into precise layout drawings, planting plans, and material selections</li><li>Prepare clear, comprehensive construction documents to support high-quality installation</li><li>Assist with revisions and refinements throughout the design process</li></ul>Estimating &amp; Pre-Construction Support<ul><li>Perform detailed quantity take-offs for hardscape, planting, and specialty materials</li><li>Assist in preparing accurate internal cost estimates for residential projects</li><li>Coordinate with trusted vendors and suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, and lead times</li><li>Assemble organized project documentation for seamless transition to operations and field teams</li></ul>Project Coordination<ul><li>Collaborate closely with project managers and installation teams during pre-construction and build phases</li><li>Support material ordering, delivery coordination, and installation preparation</li><li>Maintain accurate, well-organized project files throughout the project lifecycle</li></ul>Collaboration &amp; Professional Communication<ul><li>Work cross-functionally with design, operations, and field staff to ensure alignment and clarity</li><li>Communicate professionally with clients when design clarification is required</li><li>Contribute to a respectful, detail-oriented, and collaborative office culture</li></ul>QualificationsRequired<ul><li>4+ years of professional experience in residential landscape design or design-build</li><li>Strong understanding of high-end residential hardscape construction and planting design</li><li>Proven experience producing construction-ready landscape drawings</li><li>Ability to complete accurate material take-offs and support estimating efforts</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Uvision/Realtime Landscape Pro or similar design software</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills</li><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and ability to attend job site visits as needed</li><li>Strong knowledge of Midwest plant material and luxury residential landscape standards</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field</li><li>Experience coordinating material orders and working with vendors and suppliers</li></ul>What Bret-Mar Landscape Offers<ul><li>Competitive salary aligned with experience and expertise</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off and paid holidays</li><li>401(k) with employer contribution</li><li>Opportunities for continued professional development &amp; volunteering</li><li>Private, dedicated office space (no cubicles)</li><li>Dog-friendly workplace&mdash;well-behaved dogs are welcome in the office</li><li>A collaborative, design-focused environment with long-term career potential</li><li>The opportunity to contribute to beautifully crafted, high-end residential landscapes</li></ul>Work Environment &amp; Physical Requirements<ul><li>Primarily office-based design and coordination work with occasional site visits</li><li>Periodic outdoor work in varying weather conditions</li><li>Occasional lifting of materials up to approximately 20 lbs</li><li>Ability to navigate active residential job sites, including walking and standing for extended periods</li></ul>How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and portfolio highlighting relevant residential landscape experience.Ashley MarrinPresidentashley@bretmarlandscape.comPay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>People with a criminal record are encouraged to applyWork Location: In person
