<p>
This is primarily a backup childcare position. While some shifts are scheduled in advance, many requests come with 24&ndash;48 hours' notice. Because of this, hours are not guaranteed week-to-week, making this role an excellent fit for someone looking for flexible supplemental income.</p>
<p>
For candidates seeking more consistent hours, BrightStar also offers the opportunity to cross-train as a Caregiver, providing access to additional shifts and scheduling opportunities.</p><br>

What You&rsquo;ll Do</b></h2>
<p>
As a Babysitter / Childcare Support Specialist, you will provide attentive, reliable, and developmentally appropriate care for a child in their home. This role is about more than &ldquo;watching kids&rdquo; - it&rsquo;s about creating a safe, supportive, and positive environment where a child can feel cared for, engaged, and secure.</p>
<p>
Responsibilities may include:</p>
<ul>
<li><div><ul><li>Providing one-on-one childcare and supervision in the child&rsquo;s home</li>
<li>Supporting the child&rsquo;s daily routine, safety, play, and emotional well-being</li>
<li>Assisting with hygiene and personal care as directed, including dressing, toileting, grooming, bathing, oral care, and feeding</li>
<li>Preparing meals according to the child&rsquo;s needs or diet</li>
<li>Helping with light housekeeping related to the child&rsquo;s care, such as linen changes or tidying care areas</li>
<li>Engaging the child in games, outdoor activities, and fun, age-appropriate interaction</li>
<li>Supporting a safe environment by following BrightStar policies, procedures, and care standards</li>
<li>Reporting any changes in the child&rsquo;s condition or needs to the Director of Nursing or appropriate BrightStar team member</li>
Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the child&rsquo;s and family&rsquo;s rights<br>

<li>Are dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently.
</li><li>Would be interested in cross-training as a Caregiver for additional hours and consistent scheduling opportunities.</li>

<li>Ability to pass all required state and client-specific background checks</li>
<li>Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements</li>
<li>Reliable transportation and ability to travel to and from the child&rsquo;s residence</li>
<li>Legal authorization to work in the United States</li>
<li>Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds</li>
<li>Possession and ability to use a smartphone</li></ul></div></li><br>

<ul><li><div><ul><li>High school diploma or GED preferred</li>
<li>Minimum one year of childcare, babysitting, caregiving, nanny, CNA, paraprofessional, or related experience preferred</li>
<li>Experience working with children with medical, behavioral, developmental, or special needs preferred</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and current automobile insurance meeting company requirements preferred</li></ul></div></li><br>
