Job Summary</b></p><ul><li>
The Landscaper/Driver provide landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and public properties. This position performs basic tasks with supervision and supports the safe operation of commercial grade landscaping equipment as well as the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements. <b>In this role you will also function as the crew driver, as needed but up to daily.</b></li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><b>
Drive Company vehicle with and without a trailer attached; getting crew and equipment from site to site, as needed but up to daily.</b></li><li>
Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using a gas-powered edger/trimmer, and operating a gas-powered blower</li><li>
Prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches</li><li>
Plant and maintain flower beds</li><li>
Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects</li><li>
Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing.</li><li>
Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.</li><li>
Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe</li><li>
Perform basic, preventative maintenance to extend the life of equipment</li><li>
Properly remove trash, dead plants, and suckers from landscape</li><li>
Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers</li><li>
Report unsafe conditions to Crew Leader or Production Manager as appropriate</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Education and Experience:</b></p><ul><li>
At least 18 years old,</li><li><b>
Must have a Chauffeur's licenses</b> or have the ability to obtain one, <b>at your cost</b>, before an offer can be made.</li><li><b>
Must submit to and pass</b> a criminal background check, Driver Records check and <b>DOT Medical Physical which includes a Drug Test by Federal Mandate within 48 hours of an offer being made.</b></li><li>
Enthusiastic and dependable</li><li>
Ability to safely work with equipment like power saws and cutters</li><li>
Certified on level 1 equipment (backpack blower, stick edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower)</li><li>
Familiar with basic horticultural maintenance operations/practices</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Physical Demands/Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>
Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)</li><li>
Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)</li><li>

Identify irrigation system problems and work with the Crew Leader to correct</li><li>
Properly repair broken sprinkler heads</li><li>
Plant and maintain flower beds</li><li>
Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects</li><li>
Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris onto the turf before mowing.</li><li>
Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing.</li><li>

Train team members on preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers; connect trucks and trailers safely and correctly</li><li>

Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.</li><li>

Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver&rsquo;s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check.</li><li>
