Position Summary: 
 
The TAS is critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients.
 
 
The primary role of the TAS is to be accountable for the appropriate adoption of BMS assigned Rheumatology portfolio and generate demand. To meet the HCPs expectations, the TAS engages them with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deep scientific dialog. 
 
The role builds and maintains strong professional relationships with selected National Thought Leaders (NTLs) and focus on regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups practices, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary point of contact. 
 
The TAS liaises with other BMS functions as needed to deliver an overall higher Customer Experience (Cx) by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. This role will prioritize the safe and appropriate use of BMS products while also focusing on overall business results and performance objectives while exemplifying BMS values.
 
 
The TAS role is field based. A TAS is anticipated to spend their time in the field with external customers. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
Portfolio Promotion
<ul><li>Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets.</li><li>
Organize promotional programs like lunch &amp; learn and speaker programs.</li><li>
Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.</li><li>
Maximizes the usage of AI based targeting capabilities (CE3) to define their call plan.</li><li>
Participates to OMNICHANNEL interactions with customers.</li><li>
Engages with and continuously maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.</li><li>

Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales /MSL / HCP / nurse.</li><li>

Field - United States - US: $129,970 - $157,487 
 
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Position Summary
 
Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a principal scientist to join the Oral Product Development group within the Drug Product Development function. The drug product development group supports the formulation and process development of Bristol Myers Squibb 's drug candidates from preclinical stage to commercial process readiness. This position is responsible for formulation design, development, characterization, and technology transfer to enable development of small molecule drug products (DPs). The incumbent will be accountable as an individual contributor to support formulation development as well as providing necessary guidance and support of drug product control strategy for drug candidates across all stages of development. 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
The Principal Scientist will collaborate across BMS sites with Drug Product, Analytical, API, Quality, and Regulatory functions to execute drug product formulation/process development, formulation strategies, control strategies, and support of drug application submissions and approval.<ul><li>
Key member of a dynamic scientifically driven team, dedicated to the design, development, and characterization of robust small molecule drug product formulations.</li><li>
Develop oral formulations for clinical studies and commercialization.</li><li>
Lead drug product formulation and process development including evaluating the need and potential for enhancing oral bioavailability, stability, and processability of drug candidates through appropriate formulation strategies.</li><li>
Support preparation of CMC regulatory documents.</li><li>

Qualifications &amp; Experience
 
 
Qualifications:<ul><li>
Completed BS in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with 9-12 years of pharmaceutical development experience; MS with 6-9 years of experience; or Ph.D. with 4-6 years of experience.</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
Experienced in formulation development, pharmaceutical processing related to drug product development and hands on experience.</li><li>
Fundamental understanding of drug substance, excipients, pharmaceutical unit operations (blending, milling, sieving, granulation, tableting, encapsulation, coating, spray drying), intermediate and critical quality attributes, statistics, risk assessment approaches, and cGMP principles.</li><li>
Experienced in building the CMC dossier for regulatory submissions within the development section as an author/reviewer. Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>
Strong capabilities in experimental design and execution.</li><li>

MSL Position Summary 
 
MSLs embody our medical mission in becoming a trusted, agile partner who engages in relevant dialogue and delivers timely, high impact data and insights that advance the science or accelerate access, optimize medical practice and drive appropriate adoption of BMS medicines. The MSL role is a field-based role and it is anticipated that a MSL will spend their time in the field with external customers. 
 
The primary role of MSLs is to develop and maintain contacts with Thought Leaders (TL) and Healthcare Providers (HCP) within their healthcare system. The purpose of interactions is to ensure patients have access to BMS medicines, to ensure their safe and appropriate use through peer-to-peer discussions aligned with medical strategies and needs expressed by the stakeholders. The scientific dialogue focuses on scientific/clinical information around disease management and BMS products in a fair and balanced way and includes appropriate Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) data. 
 
Position Responsibilities 
 
1. External Environment and Customer Focus
 
 
<ul><li>Develop and maintain interactions with Thought Leaders, appropriate HCPs, and access stakeholders, within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product and HEOR related questions. MSLs will use various channels for interactions (1:1, group presentation; remote, etc.).</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Effectively present information to HCPs and be able to respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with Thought Leaders to understand their needs and expertise. Continuously update own knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organization to be actioned in support of the strategy development.</li></ul> 
2. Contribute to the Medical Plan

<ul><li>Provide scientific support at promotional meetings by presenting unbiased scientific and clinical data, by evaluating speakers and by giving support to BMS-contracted speakers.</li></ul> 
4. Support Clinical Trial Activities
 
 
<ul><li>Support Interventional and Non-Interventional Research (NIR) studies (e.g. identification and assessment of potential study sites) to support patient recruitment and/or discussions around the safe and effective use of BMS investigational products, as agreed with local medical management and as defined by the study scope document.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Provide recommendations and insights to clinical development team on study and site feasibilities within the therapeutic area based on knowledge of the field and through direct contacts with potential investigators, as agreed with local medical management.</li></ul> 
<ul><li>Actively support CRO sponsored studies as agreed with local medical management and as defined by the study scope document.</li></ul>
