The role:</b></p><p><b><i>
Mechanic &ndash; Atlanta (ATL)</i></b></p><p>
To provide technical support to British Airways and its customer airlines in a manner that provides safe, efficient and cost-effective aircraft maintenance.</p><p><b>
What you&rsquo;ll do:</b></p><ul><li>
Prepare the ramp for the arrival, transit and subsequent departure of aircraft.</li><li>
Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Duty Engineer.</li><li>
Ensure all tasks performed are in accordance with the applicable Approved Technical Publications, Line Maintenance Procedures and Health and Safety Manuals.</li><li>
Correctly complete all documentation relevant to the role prior to aircraft departure and in accordance with the approved procedures manuals</li><li>
Monitor all ground equipment and vehicles to ensure full serviceability.</li><li>
Continuously monitor all health and safety requirements in accordance with the Health and Safety Manuals and report all deficiencies.</li><li>
Good housekeeping. Ensure the ramp area and engineering facility is clean and tidy at all times.</li><li>
Monitor all working practices and report all incidents and accidents.</li><li>
Assist the duty engineer with Risk Assessments.</li><li>
When required, carry out the functions of subordinate grades.</li><li>
Assist the duty engineer to administer British Airways and Customer technical publication systems to the requirements of their respective Quality Assurance departments.</li><li>
Assist the duty engineer to ensure that all aspects of British Airways and customer airlines Quality Assurance requirements are met.</li><li>
Assist the duty engineer to action any discrepancies resulting from incident reports or audits within laid down timescales.</li><li>
Exercise a degree of control over station costs to achieve budgeted targets.</li><li>
Ensure correct procedures are followed with regard to all operational communications e.g. telexes and faxes.</li><li>
Control and administer spares and equipment as required</li></ul><p><b>

IT literate with acceptable knowledge of British Airways Computer Systems.</li><li>
An understanding of commercial implications of business decisions.</li></ul><p><b>
Your experience:</b></p><ul><li>
Good written and spoken English</li><li>
Aeronautical Mechanics Qualification (FAA A and P Certificate)</li></ul><p><b>
OR</b></p><ul><li>
Minimum 5 years Mechanical or Electrical experience in a different industry.</li><li><b>
Experience (On the Job)</b></li><li>
Experience working in an aircraft maintenance or similar environment</li><li>
Experience supervising or managing a team</li><li>
Experience of working within the scope of legal regulations and company requirements</li><li>
Business awareness and understanding of business change processes</li><li>
Valid driving license</li><li>
Ability to hold airport zone restricted access</li></ul><p><b>
