Seeking an enthusiastic engineer to join the NIC software test team responsible for maintaining and enhancing test automation framework on multiple product lines in our test organization.</div><div>
This diverse role is central to the team&rsquo;s operations, and includes elements of software development, system administration, and test automation.</div><div></div><div>
Candidates with strengths in the following areas are strongly preferred:</div><ul><li><div>
Python Development, git/gerrit/Jenkins administration, Linux system administration &amp; test automation framework. Exposure to server hardware, networking protocols, and mixed hardware/software environments is beneficial.</div></li><li><div>
The candidate must have hands-on experience in Python programming and or bash scripting.</div></li><li><div>
A strong understanding of the Layer2 functionality, TCP/IP networking, Virtualization technologies, VM management, DPDK and RDMA would also be an added benefit.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Primary responsibilities include:</div><ul><li><div>
Design, develop and maintain automation in our build, test and release automation infrastructure using Python, bash, make, etc.</div></li><li><div>
Testing NIC controllers for L2 features, good knowledge of TCP/IP stack, network virtualization and RDMA.</div></li><li><div>
Support and expand test infrastructure to ensure quality firmware and driver delivery to the organization and to customers.</div></li><li><div>
Prioritize and manage multiple, parallel tasks, projects &amp; releases.</div></li><li><div>
Reviews of design and functional specifications created by the development team to understand product functionality.</div></li></ul><div></div><div>
Qualifications:</div><ul><li><div>
Bachelors/Masters of Engineering with a 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience</div></li><li><div>
Extensive experience in the development of automation scripts in Python &ndash; primarily network and system level programming using Python and/or bash development.</div></li><li><div>
git, gerrit and Jenkins or similar experience preferred.</div></li><li><div>
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills &amp; debugging skills.</div></li><li><div>
Possess excellent communication skills and need to be a critical thinker and a self-starter.</div></li><li><div>
Experience testing NIC controller for L2 features, good knowledge of TCP/IP stack.</div></li><li><div>
Excellent knowledge in at least one of the server OSes (Windows, Linux, ESXi).</div></li><li><div>
Understanding of OS fundamentals, services and configurations. Hands-on experience with OS specific tests for network controllers, servers platforms.</div></li><li><div>
Experience with network test equipment is an added plus&ndash; Protocol/PCIe Analyzers, Protocol Jammers, Load Generators (iPerf, Ixia, Medusa tools etc).</div></li><li><div>

The annual base salary range for this position is $118,800 - $190,000.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>

Job Qualifications/Requirements:<br>

Linux L2 / RoCE protocol understanding is preferred.<br>

Excellent programming skills: C / C++<br>
Experience on build automation using bash / python will be an added advantage.<br>
