Job descriptionStaff Accountant BRS Accounting SolutionsHours: 30 hours per week Schedule: Flexible between 6:00 AM &ndash; 2:00 PM EST, Monday &ndash; Friday (consistent weekly hours required) Location: RemoteAbout the Role BRS Accounting Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will support our director and staff in managing multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. You will collaborate closely with the director and team members through Zoom (video, audio, and screen sharing).To be successful, you must have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to maintain consistent working hours.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts</li><li>Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliations</li><li>Assist with monthly close processes</li><li>Contribute to the development and review of budgets and performance projections</li><li>Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations</li><li>Ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions</li><li>Meet processing and reporting deadlines</li><li>Prepare financial statements and respond to information requests</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP</li><li>Assist the director with additional tasks as needed</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)</li><li>Minimum 2 years of accounting experience</li><li>QuickBooks Online Certification (required)</li><li>CPA or CPA candidate preferred</li><li>QuickBooks Online (certified)</li><li>Drake Tax (required)</li><li>Bill.com (certified preferred)</li><li>Expensify (certified preferred)</li><li>Payroll applications (ADP or similar &ndash; 2+ years preferred)</li><li>Strong working knowledge of GAAP</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Strong numeracy and analytical ability</li><li>Effective problem-solving and time management skills</li><li>Highly organized and detail-oriented</li></ul>Technology Requirements<ul><li>Computer with dual-screen setup</li><li>Reliable high-speed internet</li><li>Ability to collaborate via Zoom (video, audio, and screen sharing)</li></ul>Preference will be given to candidates who are CPAs or actively pursuing certification.Job Type: Part-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hourExpected hours: 30 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>Work from home</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Required)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Drake Tax: 2 years (Required)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>QuickBooks Online Certification (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
