We&rsquo;re seeking a Senior Data Cabling Engineer to join our growing team and help build and maintain the data infrastructure that drives smarter decisions.Role Overview:As a Senior engineer you will be able to lead and deliver structured cabling installations across commercial and industrial sites throughout the UK. This hands-on role involves supervising on-site teams, ensuring high-quality installations, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and health &amp; safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in copper and fibre cabling, a strong understanding of network infrastructure, and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of installations &mdash; from planning and containment to termination, testing, and client handover. You must have a driving license and access to a vehicle.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems, including Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre optic networks.</li><li>Supervise and support on-site engineers and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed to high standards and within project deadlines.</li><li>Interpret site plans, schematics, and technical drawings to guide accurate installations.</li><li>Install cable containment systems such as trunking, conduit, tray, and basket in accordance with design specifications.</li><li>Perform end-to-end cable testing and certification using Fluke DSX cabler analyser.</li><li>Install and configure network cabinets, patch panels, and related infrastructure.</li><li>Conduct fault finding, diagnostics, and remedial work on structured cabling systems.</li><li>Ensure all site works are carried out safely and comply with relevant health &amp; safety regulations and risk assessments.</li><li>Liaise with clients, contractors, and project managers to provide updates and resolve issues on site.</li><li>Complete site documentation, including daily job sheets, test results, and handover reports.</li><li>Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to junior engineers and apprentices.</li></ul>Essential Skills &amp; Experience:<ul><li>Experience in structured cabling installation (Cat6, Cat6a and fibre optic).</li><li>Experience leading on-site teams or running installation projects independently.</li><li>Excellent knowledge of cable testing, fault finding, and certification using Fluke DSX cable analyser.</li><li>Skilled in containment installation (trunking, tray, conduit, basket, etc.).</li><li>Ability to read and interpret site plans, floor layouts, and technical schematics.</li><li>Strong understanding of cabling standards (EN, ISO/IEC).</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Good communication and interpersonal skills &ndash; client-facing experience desirable.</li><li>Flexible to travel to various sites across the UK (some overnight stays may be required)</li></ul>Required Certifications:<ul><li>Valid ECS/CSCS card</li><li>Full UK driving licence</li></ul>Desirable (but not essential):<ul><li>SSSTS / SMSTS (Site Supervisor or Site Manager Safety Training Scheme)</li><li>IPAF / PASMA certification</li><li>Manufacturer-specific cabling certifications (e.g. Excel, Leviton, Brand-Rex)</li><li>Experience working in high-security or sensitive environments (e.g. MOD, NHS, education)</li></ul>Why Join Us?<ul><li>Work on exciting installations across a variety of sectors &mdash; from corporate HQs and data centres to healthcare, education, and government sites</li><li>Comprehensive on-the-job training and career progression</li><li>Friendly, supportive team environment</li><li>Competitive salary with overtime opportunities</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: &pound;150.00-&pound;180.00 per dayWork Location: In person
