 The Air Elec Bay Supervisor is experienced and skilled electrical supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the aircrafts air &amp; electric bay, demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques. Is responsible for tasking of work &amp; supervision of personnel/people management. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets at a tactical level.  Demonstrates people management and leadership skills.
 
 
 The post holder will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on the aircrafts air &amp; electrical component activities and will be able to demonstrate an awareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas for continuous improvement.
 
 
 
 Core Activity
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Undertaking detailed maintenance and inspection activities on the aircrafts air &amp; electric bay components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management
 </li>
 <li>
 Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance &amp; diagnostic activities on the aircrafts air &amp; electric bay components, which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintaining personal &amp; teams task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with QAF requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel&rsquo;s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approved designated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, and check Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission

 Undertaking support tasks within the aircrafts air &amp; electric bay facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for emergent faults during maintenance
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensuring all maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate

 </ul>
 
 Key Accountabilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Performance indicators &ndash; Ensure the effective management of regulatory activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises activities within / across teams to maximise efficiency. Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues for any impact on continuing airworthiness and generating effective resolutions, or sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate.

 Completion of activities &ndash; Ensure all Part 145 activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Ensure all Part 145 activities are performed by suitably qualified, experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure the integration of Part 145   activity within the business, including the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support and guidance to the team

 Procedure / standards &ndash; Comply with the regulatory framework, its associated procedures and standards and any other company procedures and standards, as applicable. Identify and propose changes, as required
 </li>
 <li>
 Safety Management System &ndash; Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management and Safety Assurance within the Part 145 team(s), together with the proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards
 </li>
 <li>
 Management System Assurance - Ensure Part 145 team(s) activities are compliant with the Regulatory Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure Process Confirmations and independent assurance audits are supported by Part 145 personnel and integrated within/across teams. Manage the response to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner and provide information into the relevant reviews. Generate and implement effective improvements within/across teams to overcome any non-compliance and monitor effectiveness

 Statutory / Regulatory &amp; Legislative requirements &ndash; Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant continuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory driven changes into the Maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, E&amp; PW, ISO

 Qualifications / Functional Knowledge:

 Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City &amp; Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training

 Experienced and competent leader at this level
 </li>
 <li>
 Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
 </li>

 Requires a minimum of 2 years working at supervisor level prior to undertaking this role

 About The Qatar Technical Institute
 
 
 
 Located on Al Udeid Airbase in Doha, the Qatar Technical Institute provides internationally recognised training programs to all three services that make up the Qatar Armed Forces.  About The Role Holder
 
 
 
 The role holder will be a pro-active individual who demonstrate ownership of all activities within their direct areas of responsibility.
 
 
 The Procurement Officer is responsible for all Technical Institute procurement activities and deliverables. Working primarily from the Technical Institute site, the Procurement Officer must ensure the Technical Institute requirements are met ensuring the relevant stakeholders are informed and up to date on all procurement activities. Ultimately, the role will be responsible for driving the timely execution of onsite procurement requirements whilst working to support the Qatar Branch Office (QBO) Procurement Group Lead developing sourcing solutions and strategies that drive a value-added procurement service.
 
 
 Additionally, the Procurement Officer must be proactive in engaging Technical Institute department managers and team leads to better understand extant and emerging requirements and provide solutions or alternatives when issues occur. Whilst responsible to the Technical Institute, the Procurement Officer will provide ad-hoc support to the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Group Lead.
 
 
 
 The Role Holder&rsquo;s Core Duties Will Include
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Development and implementation of a tailored Technical Institute Procurement Plan, whilst ensuring adherence to BAE Systems Procurement Function governance &ndash; propose to take this out as we are now governed by the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Management Plan
 </li>
 <li>
 Remain proactive in communications with all stakeholders for the identification and on-going management of Technical Institute requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop knowledge of local markets and suppliers to better inform the ability to meet requirements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out tenders to ensure the most suitable suppliers are utilised whilst implementing cost saving strategies to achieve project cost targets for high value items.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate effectively with all requirement owners to ensure appropriate suppliers are engaged and end-user requirements fully understood and communicated.
 </li>
 <li>
 Regularly inform relevant stakeholders on lead times to manage end-user expectations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Engage the Technical Institute Project Management Team to ensure mutual understanding and management of the on-shore order book, commitment and spend profiles
 </li>
 <li>
 Establish robust, trusted relationships with suppliers for current and potential future requirements, across the Qatar programme.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure the Qatar Branch Office Procurement Group Lead is provided with regular updates on supplier activities and lessons learned for application across the Qatar programme.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and agree the appropriate Procurement artefacts are in place to facilitate successful contract execution with any Qatari Suppliers (e.g. Decision Making Forums, Purchase Orders, Payment Plans, Certificates of Achievement, and Invoice Transaction).
 </li>
 <li>
 Work closely with relevant stakeholders within Qatar Branch Office to ensure all Supplier invoices are processed and paid in timely manner e.g. Finance Manager.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage all supplier visits to the Qatar Technical Institute, taking careful consideration of rules and regulations of an active military airbase.
 </li>
 <li>
 Establish close working relationships with legal and export control functions to ensure all on-shore procurement activities are legal and compliant.
 </li>
 <li>
 Be present with suppliers and vendors, at their location, to help mature requirement understanding (e.g. producing and collecting samples for further discussions and subsequently providing feedback).
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 The Procurement Officer will often be a supplier&rsquo;s only point of contact with BAE System, as a result, the Procurement Officer is expected to act professionally at all times, demonstrating BAE Systems behaviours whilst representing the organisation.
 
 
 
 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 Essential:
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Qualified, or working towards MCIPs Level 6.
 </li>
 <li>
 A minimum of two years&rsquo; experience in a Procurement Officer role or similar.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working in the Middle East.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations in both the UK and Qatar.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent communication skills with the ability to promote change and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong organisational and motivational skills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Able to engage suppliers and vendors from varying cultures with tact and diplomacy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven capability in resolving complex issues whilst managing end-user expectations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to react quickly, and positively to change.
 </li>
 <li>
 Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) and database management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic operating environment, working with a high degree of autonomy.
 </li>

 Fluent in English (minimum IELTS 7.0/CEFR C1 for non-native English speakers).
 </li>

 Valid Qatar driving license.
