Safety Illustrator Our team is growing!Building Maps is the industry leader in creating and maintaining fire evacuation maps, security maps and other safety maps for businesses and organizations across the U.S.Come join a team that is dedicated to fire, security, and severe weather safety planning.We are more than just illustrators &ndash; we are building safety experts.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design, create, and produce technical life safety and wayfinding maps for various industries.</li><li>Collaborate with the project management team to understand instructions and specifications to organize the project accordingly.</li><li>Use knowledge of building and fire code to create safe compliant safety illustrations.</li><li>Maintain a high degree of accuracy to ensure high safety standards.</li><li>Retain accurate records to account for billable time and costs.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li><li>0-25% Travel per month.</li></ul>Work Hours &amp; Benefits: <ul><li>Salary Commensurate with Experience</li><li>Work Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday</li><li>Work from Home</li><li>Health, Dental and Retirement Benefits</li><li>Computer and equipment provided</li></ul>Safety Illustrator Qualifications/Skills:<ul><li>Ability to create technical safety maps and illustrations based on sketches, mechanical blueprints, and drawings.</li><li>Ability to accurately and consistently complete work on schedule and with minimal supervision.</li><li>Understanding of mechanical blueprints and drawings.</li><li>Highly proficient with Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge of AutoCad, Revit or other 3D software a plus.</li><li>Lidar and Photogrammetry skills a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of building code and fire code.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Attention to detail and curiosity to learn.</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>Associate or higher degree in Technical Art or equivalent work experience in technical art, drafting, or related field preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of building code and fire code preferred.</li><li>1-3 years of illustration and project management experience preferred.</li></ul>Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.</li></ul>Contact Us At: Building MapsPO Box 480Rockford, MI 49341www.building-maps.comJob Type: Full-timePay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Retirement plan</li></ul>Willingness to travel:<ul><li>25% (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Remote
