<div>Description
The Staff Corporate Safety &amp; Health Specialist will perform work for Burns &amp; McDonnell Safety &amp; Health program in conjunction with the Site Safety Management and Corporate Safety &amp; Health Department. This individual is also responsible for providing professional Safety &amp; Health expertise and oversight as a key resource for Safety &amp; Health compliance matters.
<ul><li>Complete the planning and execution of corporate and project Safety &amp; Health initiatives in order to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free workplace.</li>
<li>Maintain compliance processes applicable to the Local, State, and Federal Occupational Safety &amp; Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Provide advice, guidance, and updates to Site Safety and Corporate management regarding Safety &amp; Health issues and best practices.</li>
<li>Document and verify that project Safety &amp; Health walk-through assessments are completed, monitor Safety &amp; Health requirements, and provide coaching for continuous improvement at the project site based upon Safety &amp; Health assessment.</li>
<li>Document and resolve safety items which require immediate correction.</li>
<li>Develop and publish industry specific Safety &amp; Health programs for individual Burns &amp; McDonnell Global Practices.</li>
<li>Report Safety &amp; Health compliance information regarding OSHA logs, corporate policies, incident investigation, injury case management tool, and corporate facilitated training.</li>
<li>Conduct on-site training when required for project specific Safety &amp; Health subjects, and specific Safety &amp; Health classes at corporate office level.</li>
<li>Periodically visit site locations to verify that project specific training is compliant with contractual obligations for project personnel and subcontractors as is stated in the site-specific Safety &amp; Health program.</li>
<li>Advise and support Site Safety and Corporate personnel, as necessary in the completion of, near miss, property damage, environmental incidents and accident investigation reporting, and the implementation of corrective measures as appropriate.</li>
<li>Lead communication process with all levels of the Project Management and Corporate Safety &amp; Health team weekly.</li>
<li>Quickly respond to questions and/or concerns related to Safety &amp; Health issues.</li>
<li>Respond to accidents and conduct accident investigations to determine cause and recommend corrective actions.</li>
<li>Track and report progress to Corporate Safety &amp; Health Management regarding the Project Safety &amp; Health program progress.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Complies with all policies and standards.</li>
</ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 3 years of experience in a construction field environment required.</li>
<li>Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.</li>
<li>Previous experience actively working as a Site Safety &amp; Health representative on heavy industrial projects preferred.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety &amp; Health Administration Construction, OSHA General Industry, America National Standards Institution, National Institute for Occupational Safety &amp; Health, Engineers Manual 385-1 and National Electrical Code Standards.</li>
<li>Proficient in Windows-based platform and basic computer skills.</li>
<li>This position requires driving to various locations.</li>
<li>Valid driver's license required.</li>
<li>OSHA 10-hour Outreach Construction Course or OSHA 30-hour Outreach Construction Course required.</li>
</ul>This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
