 Job Summary
 
 :
 
 
 Assists the HS/EHS teacher in the 0-5 classroom setting in providing a child-focused learning environment.
 
 
 
 Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Excellent communication skills with parents, teachers, and other staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with the planning of an individualized curriculum.
 </li>
 <li>
 Delivers and assists in lessons and activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to relate to children participate in creating an enjoyable atmosphere.
 </li>
 <li>
 Co-teaches with lead teachers, aides, and classroom volunteers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responds to emergency situations, such as first aid and conflict management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists in following through with individualized intervention plans.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists in implementing individual and transition plans for children.
 </li>
 <li>
 Have knowledge of and adhere to the Head Start Performance Standards and program policies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Fulfills the role of the lead teacher in his/her absence.
 </li>
 <li>
 Supports diversity in the classroom and workplace.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinates work schedule to meet the needs of the program.
 </li>
 <li>
 Attends all regularly scheduled staff meetings.
 </li>
 <li>
 Attends all meetings, workshops and/or conferences as assigned.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develops a professional development plan to support career goal.
 </li>
 <li>
 Job responsibilities may vary depending on the program model, site needs, and locations

 Requirements
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 :
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Must be at least 18 years of age.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of a high school diploma/GED
 </li>
 <li>
 Successfully complete the Child Development Associate (CDA) program within BVCAP time guidelines accordance with Federal Head Start Performance Standard 1302.91(e)(3)
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to obtain CPR &amp; First Aid certification within 30 of employment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Position is contingent upon the successful completion of a federal background check
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
