Your Day to Day as an Operational Excellence Unit Manager:
<ul><li>Strategic Collaboration: Partners with site leadership to uncover and prioritize significant opportunities for eliminating waste and reducing variation across processes. Collaborates with the broader Government Operations OpEx leadership team to set and execute strategic initiatives for building OpEx team capabilities and establishing a culture of operational excellence across NOG.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Impactful Sessions: Leads strategic planning and project selection sessions with site management, ensuring alignment and focus on goals that matter.</li>
<li>Project Leadership: Takes charge of highly visible strategic and complex process improvement projects, guiding them to successful outcomes.</li>
<li>Motivate for Success: Inspires and directs the NOG-L OpEx team to achieve spectacular results through the masterful application of LSS principles, methodologies, and tools.</li>
<li>Provide Technical and Leadership Expertise: Offers insightful technical and managerial guidance and support, providing mentoring and oversight throughout the year for your team of approximately ten OpEx employees.</li>
<li>Cultivate Future Leaders: Mentors Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts through their certification journeys, fostering the next generation of leaders for OpEx and for BWXT.</li>
<li>Certification Reviews: Conducts independent reviews for Black Belt certifications, ensuring high standards of excellence.</li>
<li>Enhance Learning: Provides constructive feedback during dry runs and participates in project report-outs, promoting a culture of growth and improvement.</li>
<li>Training Design &amp; Delivery: Designs, develops, and delivers engaging training programs that support LSS deployment and elevate capabilities across the organization.</li>
<li>Measure Success: Estimates both soft and hard benefits (Cost of Poor Quality - COPQ) for a variety of process improvement projects, showcasing the team's impact on the bottom line. Manages a cost center within annual expense and load board (direct hour) budgets.</li></ul> 


Required Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Ability to report to work at our Barberton, OH location. This role is fully onsite.</li>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree.</li>
<li>At least 5 years of related LSS or Continuous Improvement experience.</li>
<li>Proven experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with a track record of driving change and delivering results.</li>
<li>Demonstrable change management expertise, with the ability to influence and secure commitment at all organizational levels.</li>
<li>Skilled facilitator with a knack for leading diverse teams and forging positive working relationships.</li>
<li>Successful leadership experience in coaching, teaching, and mentoring others to elevate their skills.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills that enable you to connect effectively with others.</li>
<li>Experience driving change; results-oriented with strong business acumen, technical aptitude, and a team-oriented mindset.</li>
<li>Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
</li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.</li></ul> 


Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Technical undergraduate degree in engineering, science, or math.</li>
<li>MBA.</li>
<li>Master Black Belt certification.</li>
<li>Functional experience across multiple disciplines such as engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project management.</li>
<li>Experience managing employees.</li></ul>

</li></ul>Pay: $102,000 - $154,000 


The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $102,000 and $154,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,&rsquo; unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
