 The Housekeeping Aide provides cleaning services for a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, team members and family members. Housekeeping services provided are in accord with facility policies and procedures and consistent with state and federal laws and regulations.
 
 
 
 Essential Position Functions
 
 
 
 
 Hours for 1st shift Full time are 7:00am - 3:30pm and every other weekend and holiday
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Cleans assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily and according to facility policy while maintaining resident's privacy at all times. Employees must knock and announce before entering any resident room.
 </li>
 <li>
 Washes beds and mattresses and remakes beds after discharge of residents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
 </li>
 <li>
 Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Posts signs indicating a safety hazard anytime housekeeping activities pose environmental hazards to staff, residents, visitors, or others in the facility.
 </li>
 <li>
 Dusts furniture, handrails, and equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
 </li>
 <li>
 Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
 </li>
 <li>
 Empties wastebaskets, including biohazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accord with facility procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
 </li>
 <li>
 Uses personal protective equipment when at risk of exposure to blood or other potentially hazardous body fluids and all other times indicated by facility policies and procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Complies with all safety instructions and procedures when using chemical substances. Refers to labels and Safety Data Sheets for instructions. Keeps all chemicals and cleaning supplies in their original containers. Asks supervisor for assistance if unsure of proper handling techniques.
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards and corrects or reports potential problems. Reports housekeeping and maintenance problems including equipment breakdown to supervisor.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participates in fire and disaster drills. In the event of an emergency, carries out assigned duties to assure resident safety.
