Job Title: Purchasing AgentDepartment: New Construction-PurchasingReports to: VP of PurchasingStatus: Full Time / Exempt- SalariedJob Summary: Cadence Homes is actively seeking a high-level Purchasing Agent. Experience in Brix-Hyphen and BuildPro is a requirement.They must be able to organize and coordinate activities within the purchasing department. This role will report directly to the VP of Purchasing and works collaboratively at the Corporate office in Plano.The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detailed-orientated, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining strong vendor relationships.Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li>Understands and has relationships with members of the trade base within the market and can outline possible future trades based on market knowledge of their performance.</li><li>Identifies, qualifies, and contacts potential vendors to receive bids or quotes.</li><li>Participates in bid evaluation, bid negotiation, and vendor selection.</li><li>Responsible to assist vendors with the set-up and use of BuildPro platform.</li><li>Executes and issues purchase orders as directed by Sales or Buyer options.</li><li>Maintains records of purchases or payments.</li><li>Sets up and understands bidding on nonstandard options.</li><li>Responsible for setting up new communities and addresses in Brix.</li></ul>Required Skills/Abilities:<ul><li>Friendly and welcoming demeanor with the ability to maintain professionalism and a strong customer-focused demeanor with demanding clientele.</li><li>Handles complex issues and problems and escalates most complex issues to management.</li><li>Possesses comprehensive knowledge of purchasing processes and procedures.</li><li>Effective negotiating skills required.</li><li>Detailed oriented and ability to meet deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing systems preferred.</li><li>Understands and is proficient in Brix &amp; BuildPro</li><li>Performs work under minimal supervision.</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team.</li></ul>Education and Experience:<ul><li>Associates Degree or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (or equivalent experience) in homebuilding preferred.</li><li>3-4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within homebuilding required.</li></ul>Application Question(s):<ul><li>Do you have experience in Brix Hyphen specific to New Home Building? </li></ul>Work Location: In person
