At CAF Management, Lead Maintenance Technicians are trusted to keep our apartment communities safe, functional, and in top condition. You&rsquo;ll take the lead on repairs, preventative maintenance, and service requests&mdash;while guiding and mentoring the maintenance team.
This is the ideal role for a skilled technician ready to take ownership of a property and grow into a leadership role. We promote from within, and many of our Maintenance Supervisors and Regional Service Managers began in this position.
What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>
Lead and perform daily maintenance operations including service requests, unit turns, and inspections</li><li>
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance issues</li><li>
Ensure the property meets safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal standards</li><li>
Order and manage parts and supply inventory within budget</li><li>
Train and support Assistant Maintenance Technicians</li><li>
Coordinate vendor work and supervise contracted repairs</li><li>
Participate in the on-call rotation and handle emergency maintenance situations</li><li>
Communicate with the Property Manager to align maintenance efforts with community goals</li></ul>
What You&rsquo;ll Need to Succeed
Required:<ul><li>
2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in multifamily or related field</li><li>
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and carpentry</li><li>
Ability to lead a team and work independently</li><li>
Availability to work Saturdays (closed Sundays) and participate in on-call rotation</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation</li><li>
Aguatherm HVAC System experience</li></ul>
Preferred:<ul><li>
EPA or HVAC certification</li><li>
Experience using Entrata or similar property management software</li><li>
Bilingual abilities</li></ul>

Climb stairs and ladders (e.g., access rooftops, attics, or elevated areas)</li><li>
Push/pull, stand, and walk (e.g., transport tools, materials, and equipment)</li><li>
Reach above shoulders (e.g., HVAC units, light fixtures, shelving)</li><li>
Grasp/grip/turn and use finger dexterity (e.g., using hand tools, locks, and fasteners)</li><li>
Lifting/Carrying:</li><li>
Over 50 lbs: Rare need (less than 1%)</li><li>
10&ndash;25 lbs: Occasional need (1% to 33%)</li><li>
Under 10 lbs: Frequent need (33% to 100%)</li></ul>

This is a great role for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in fixing things the right way, and is looking for a long-term career path in property management. Many of our Lead Technicians and Maintenance Supervisors began in this role&mdash;and grew with us.
What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>
Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner</li><li>
Assist with apartment turns, repairs, and unit inspections</li><li>
Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues</li><li>
Help maintain community grounds, amenities, and common areas</li><li>
Work with vendors and maintenance team to complete larger projects</li><li>
Ensure all work complies with safety guidelines and company standards</li><li>
Maintain tools, equipment, and supply inventory</li><li>
Communicate clearly with residents and team members to ensure satisfaction</li></ul>
What You&rsquo;ll Need to Succeed
Required:<ul><li>
Basic knowledge of apartment maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances)</li><li>
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn</li><li>
Ability to work independently and in a team</li><li>
Availability to work Saturdays (closed Sundays) and participate in on-call rotation as needed</li><li>
Valid driver&rsquo;s license and reliable transportation</li></ul>

Previous experience in apartment, facilities, or building maintenance</li><li>
HVAC certification or EPA license (a plus, not required)</li><li>
