Job Summary 
 
The research assistant will undertake functionality testing and possible refurbishment of two instruments: a 1.6K bolometer and the SHARCII camera. 
 
Essential Job Duties 
<ul><li>
Modest mechanical design and assembly work</li><li>
Opening and closing of cryostats</li><li>
Cooldown of cryostats to liquid helium temperature and pumping on liquid helium bath</li><li>
Testing of detectors</li><li>
Measurement of response to optical sources</li><li>
Measurement of noise</li><li>
Perform other related duties as assigned</li></ul> 

Basic Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Basic programming skills in python</li><li>
Some lab experience</li></ul> 

Preferred Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Experience with liquid cryogenics</li></ul>
