The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education.  Position Information
 
 
 
 The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an
 
 Assistant Director, Human Resources Communications
 
 to oversee the planning and implementation of communications to CSU employees through the CSU&rsquo;s Intranet/digital communications platform, creative campaigns, and informational presentations and documents. This role works in the Integrated Internal Communications team and collaborates closely with the Systemwide Human Resources and Chancellor&rsquo;s Office Human Resources teams in the Chancellor&rsquo;s Office. The position will serve a critical role supporting the Integrated Internal Communications as the hub for HR and internal communications systemwide.
 
 
 This position will work collaboratively with Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining teams as well as Title IX/Civil Rights teams and will assist with strategic planning as well as communications regarding employee resources and conferences/workshops/events within SWHR and the Chancellor's Office.
 
 
 This position will partner with CO Marketing Communications and/Public Affairs teams to bring an internal communications lens to communications efforts, while ensuring continuity and consistency of CSU messaging. This position also requires collaboration with other cross-functional stakeholders at the CSU Chancellor's Office and the CSU's campuses.
 
 
 
 This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California.
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 Under the general direction of the
 
 Interim Senior Director, Integrated Internal Communications
 
 , the
 
 Assistant Director, Human Resources Communications
 
 will:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Develop, manage and execute a comprehensive integrated communications strategy for the Division of Human Resources. Identify the audience and implement various communication strategies and determine the frequency of communication and mediums to be used for optimal internal and external communication.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide strategic and creative guidance to HR leadership and functional teams to ensure that divisional efforts align and support HR's goals and initiatives, as well as the CSU's mission.
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as lead HR contact for new CSU Intranet/Workvivo site.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and distribute communications that explain or convey CSU policies or positions on issues to internal audiences through written communications and email/online/social media/Intranet platforms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Partner with leadership and functional teams, including Labor Relations, Collective Bargaining, and Title IX/Civil Rights teams on content and messaging.
 </li>
 <li>
 Write, create, and edit content; and conceive, design and produce SWHR emails, web content and messaging; and oversee the development of brochures, flyers, posters, and photography, that enhances awareness and promotes internal communications initiatives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the use of social, electronic media and virtual event platforms for delivering integrated messages to reach broad audiences.
 </li>
 <li>
 Foster partnerships and collaboration throughout SWHR and the Chancellor's Office, to result in effective employer communications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve as the HR division's primary liaison with CO Marketing Communications and Public Affairs on initiatives and project management.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee the work of the Editorial Content Manager in producing the Chancellor&rsquo;s Office internal newsletter.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications
 
 
 
 This position requires:
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum of five years related experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Significant communications management experience with proven track record.
 </li>
 <li>
 Fluency with the Microsoft Office suite.
 </li>
 <li>
 Familiarity with employee intranet platforms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong writing, editing, research, and proofreading, including ability to present concepts verbally.
 </li>
 <li>
 Leadership skills for directing and overseeing projects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to adapt to changing information and needs, coordinate multiple assignments, establish priorities and meet multiple deadlines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work atmosphere and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse population.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to accurately translate multifaceted technical information into common ordinary terms.
 </li>
 <li>
 Confident communicator and presenter.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong project management experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
 </li>
 <li>
