Summary
Supports administrative and clinical requirements of physicians and other licensed medical staff. Assists in obtaining patient vital signs, updates patients&rsquo; charts, compiles related statistical data and policy/procedure/practice, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards. Responsible for administering care to clinic patients under the supervision of the physician and other licensed medical staff.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">

Maintains patients&rsquo; rights, confidentiality, dignity, and well-being</li><li>
Maintains an accurate, relevant record of patient care and patient contact per visit and per telephone</li><li>
Collects and processes all point of care, lab, and pathology samples per CFVH policy</li><li>
Performs quality and safety checks on all waived testing equipment and supplies per CFVHS policies</li><li>
Performs patient education under the direction of the Provider</li><li>
Administers and records treatments, dressing changes, medications, and therapies under the direction and order of the LIP.</li><li>
Chaperones, sets up for, and assists providers in procedures and examinations as needed</li><li>
Properly handles and prepares reusable instruments for return to Central Sterile Processing for sterilization</li><li>
Disposes of biohazard and pharmaceutical waste per OSHA guidelines and per CFVH Policy</li><li>
Maintains a clean patient care environment by following Infection Prevention Standards for between patient cleaning and terminal cleaning</li><li>
Ensures appropriate supply stock and instrument supplies in designated areas</li><li>
Other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Physician Office Practice Additional Job Functions:<ul><li>
Performs front desk reception to include greeting patients and scheduling appointments</li><li>
Assists clerk/receptionist with ICD and CPT coding, input to computer for billing, insurance, and QA purposes</li><li>
Coordinates and communicates with outside healthcare partners such as home health, hospice, DME companies, community paramedics, and ACO, to carry out the provider directed patient plan of care</li><li>
Monitors Epic In Basket and responds to all messages in an appropriate time frame</li><li>
Performs components of well visits or physicals as directed by the provider</li><li>
Performs scheduled nursing visits as directed by the provider</li><li>
Completes all required documentation for each patient visit prior to provider beginning visit</li><li>
Performs High Level Disinfection according to CFVH policy and manufacturer&rsquo;s instructions</li><li>
Floats to other clinics as assigned</li><li>

Minimum Qualifications</h1>
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Education, Training and Experience:</h2><ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>
Basic Life Support (BLS) required from the American Heart Association</li><li>
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program with successful completion of a nationally recognized certification exam required. Acceptable organizations are:<ul><li>
CMA - American Association of Medical Assistants</li><li>
RMA - American Medical Technologists</li><li>
CMA(MEDCA) - Medical Career Assessments</li><li>
RMA(ARMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants</li><li>
CMA - National Association for Health Professionals</li><li>
CCMA - National Healthcare Association</li><li>
NRCMA - National Association for Health Professionals</li></ul></li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Work Experience:</h2><ul><li>
1 year clinical experience in an outpatient clinical setting preferred</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:</h2><ul><li>
Recognizes life-threatening situations, responds, and activates emergency services</li><li>
Effectively communicates with all customers, staff, and providers in-person and via phone, including greeting, identifying self by name and role, and returning calls in a timely manner</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Physical Requirements:</h2><ul><li>
Must be able to see, hear, read, and have manual ability to use office and clinical equipment</li><li>
Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting</li><li>
May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material</li></ul>

Summary
Assists teacher in providing the developmental and care needs of children while helping to maintain a quality program at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Child Development Center. Helps to maintain a clean and safe environment.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">

Uses curriculum items and methodology developed by the teacher with individuals and groups</li><li>
Discusses the program and its relation to each child&rsquo;s needs with the lead teacher</li><li>
Assists teacher with curriculum planning and gathering of materials needed to implement daily learning activities</li><li>
Follows teacher&rsquo;s lead during class time</li><li>
Accurately follows established center procedures and routines (diaper changing, emergency procedures, schedules, etc.) without immediate supervision</li><li>
Interacts positively with children and provides and appropriate role model</li><li>
Participates in parent involvement program including writing for the center&rsquo;s newsletter, regularly scheduled parent-teacher conferences, and parent meetings</li><li>
Maintains a clean, safe and health learning environment</li><li>

Minimum Qualifications</h1>

Education and Formal Training:</h2><ul><li>
High School or equivalent required</li><li>
Proof of course completion in NC Credentials EDU119 Early Childhood Development with six (6) additional hours in Early Childhood Development from an accredited school required</li><li>
Out of state coursework must be reviewed by the NC Division of Childhood Development</li><li>
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED from the American Heart Association (AHA) required</li><li>
Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) certification required</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Work Experience:</h2><ul><li>
2 years of responsible classroom experience in a professional childcare setting and or elementary school preferred</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</h2><ul><li>
Knowledge of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social characteristics of children ages birth to five years.</li><li>
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.</li><li>
Ability to communicate effectively and visually observe children in the classroom.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Physical Requirements:</h2><ul><li>
Work involves a variety of activities to include walking, standing, and lifting of children and various objects.</li></ul>
