The Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center, located at the Bone and Joint Center, is looking for FULL TIME Registered Nurses to work in the PRE-OP/PACU department.The Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides orthopaedic surgical and pain management services. Our center, which opened its doors in November 2000, is fully equipped with six operating rooms. Our center employs a tremendous team focused solely on the care of its patients. Our surgery center is committed to provide the highest standard of orthopaedic surgical care in a professional, compassionate, and considerate manner specific to the individual needs of our patients.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Admit patient to pre-operative care area.</li><li>Completes pre-operative assessment upon admission.</li><li>Verifies correct physician orders.</li><li>Effectively administer medication while working along side the anesthesia team and physicians.</li><li>Ability to closely monitor patients while under sedation and post-surgery.</li><li>Prepare patient and patient area for designated procedure.</li><li>Effectively communicates with co-workers, anesthesia and OR team.</li><li>Efficiently admit post-surgical patient to PACU.</li><li>Monitor post-surgical patient per facility protocol.</li><li>Provide patient/family teaching and instructions post-operatively for discharge to home.</li></ul>Qualifications include:<ul><li>Minimum of 1-2 years in med/surg/ICU</li><li>Previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting, acute hospital recovery room/operating room preferred but not required</li><li>Current ACLS and BLS required</li><li>Current licensure in NYS as a Registered Nurse</li></ul>Position will require schedule flexibility to meet the needs of the facility.
