Position Summary
The CDL Driver &ndash; Automated Side-Load (ASL) is responsible for operating an automated residential collection vehicle to safely and efficiently service assigned routes. This position focuses on automated side-load equipment and residential service, with an emphasis on safety, route efficiency, customer service, and DOT compliance.
ASL drivers typically operate dual-drive automated trucks, allowing for right-side operation with minimal manual handling. 
Key Responsibilities
Route &amp; Equipment Operation<ul><li>
Safely operate an Automated Side-Load (ASL) truck on assigned residential routes</li><li>
Perform daily route assignments efficiently and on schedule</li><li>
Use automated arms to collect carts while maintaining awareness of surroundings</li><li>
Navigate residential neighborhoods safely and defensively</li></ul>
Safety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>
Comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS)</li><li>
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any defects</li><li>
Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and site-specific procedures</li><li>
Immediately report accidents, incidents, injuries, or property damage</li></ul>
Customer Service &amp; Professionalism<ul><li>
Provide courteous and professional service to customers and the public</li><li>
Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned equipment</li><li>
Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and operations staff</li></ul>
Yard &amp; Support Duties<ul><li>
Assist with basic yard or equipment-related tasks as assigned</li><li>
Support team operations to ensure consistent service delivery</li></ul> 
Qualifications
Required<ul><li>
Valid CDL (Class A or B)</li><li>
Acceptable MVR and ability to meet company insurance requirements</li><li>
Current DOT medical card</li><li>
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions</li><li>
Strong safety awareness and reliability</li></ul>
Preferred<ul><li>
Previous ASL or residential route experience</li><li>
Experience operating automated or dual-drive equipment</li><li>
Prior waste, garbage, or local delivery driving experience</li></ul>

Requirements:

Education, Training, Experience and Licensing/Certification Requirements:<ul><li>
Previous experience with Front-End Load, Roll-Off, Rear-Load, Automated Side-Load (ASL) (Preferred)</li><li>
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (desired)</li><li>
Possess valid Class A or B Commercial Driver&rsquo;s License (CDL)</li><li>
Prior waste industry driving experience (Preferred)</li><li>
Two (2) years of satisfactory driving experience of Class A or B vehicles (Required)</li><li>
Satisfactory MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record)</li><li>
Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen and criminal background check</li></ul></div>

CDL Driver Qualifications<ul><li>
CDL Drivers with a Class &quot;B or A&quot; CDL</li><li>
Prefer at least 2 years of driving experience in the garbage truck industry with rear load, ASL, roll off, or front end</li><li>
safe driving record and will be verified through the Department of Motor Vehicles</li><li>
current and in compliance with all D.O.T. requirements</li><li>
Valid Medical Certification</li><li>
Be dependable, reliable and trustworthy</li><li>
Be able to pass a drug test and background check</li></ul>
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities<ul><li>
Operate various types of trucks, including Front-End Load, Roll-Off, Rear-Load, or Automated Side-Load (ASL), to collect and transport waste materials.</li><li>
Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials while adhering to all safety regulations.</li><li>
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform minor mechanical maintenance as needed.</li><li>
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.</li><li>
Provide excellent customer service during interactions with the public.</li></ul>
