Surgical Patient Care Representative JOB SUMMARY: Serves as support personnel to include assisting with patient admissions, discharging patients, chart preparation, medical records, assisting nursing staff and providers as needed, and other collateral duties.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: <ul><li>Current BLS</li></ul>ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Excellent customer service and communication skills.2. Ability to work as a team member3. Management of multiple tasks simultaneously.4. Motivation to succeed.5. Empathetic personality giving attention to patients needs and concerns6. Working knowledge of Excel7. Strong communication with attention to detail.8. Respectful treatment of patients and co-workers.RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Skills <ul><li>Demonstrates competency and knowledge of preparing patient medical records</li><li>Uses knowledge of medical record policy and procedures</li><li>Actively participates in medical records QAPI.</li><li>Identifies vital patient care needs and prioritizes accordingly.</li><li>Coordinates patient care with other team members</li><li>Keeps work clean, tidy and properly stocked, free of soiled equipment and supplies</li><li>Reports abnormal or unexpected outcomes or observations to RN and/or physician.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique</li><li>Wears appropriate attire in restricted areas.</li><li>Adheres to recommended traffic patterns.</li><li>Demonstrates skill in appropriate use of equipment.</li><li>Transports patients to and from and within the facility.</li><li>Assists with preoperative patient preparation and postoperative patient discharge</li><li>Assists with OR Turnover</li><li>Cleans, restocks supplies as assigned.</li></ul>Communication <ul><li>Listens respectfully, gives feedback directly, honestly and talks with others to clarify differences</li><li>Utilizes translation services when needed</li><li>Utilizes appropriate services when needed to communication with employees and patients with speech and hearing disorders</li><li>Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients (including fellow employees) from diverse backgrounds</li></ul>Quality <ul><li>Demonstrates a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environment</li><li>Understands, verbalizes, and participates in the quality improvement process.</li><li>Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance</li></ul>ORGANIZATIONAL POLICIES:1.
