Carbon Clean

<div><ul><li>You will support the Research team in preparation of chemical solutions, standards and chemical waste disposal.</li>
<li>You will assist in daily laboratory operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to SOPs.</li>
<li>You will clean and replenish glassware and support the Research Team in preparing equipment set-ups when required.</li>
<li>You will ensure essential laboratory facilities (handwash stations, spill kits, first aid kits, etc.) are maintained and accessible.</li>
<li>Monitor and restock laboratory supplies (chemicals, gases and consumables), by maintaining accurate inventories, registering and storing samples received, and changing gas cylinders. You will also support procurement processes.</li>
<li>You will manage storage areas (fridges, chemical cupboards, benches, etc.) and ensure laboratory facilities are accessible.</li>
<li>You will support the Laboratory Manager and Research Team in ensuring the safety documentation (laboratory handbook, risk assessments, COSHH, emergency procedures, etc.) are kept up to date and accessible to staff.</li>
<li>You may also be trained and act as a First Aider and / or a Fire Marshal.</li>
</ul>
Requirements<ul>
<li>
You will be qualified to a minimum Diploma or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (or equivalent) in physical sciences or certified through a recognised apprenticeship.</li>
<li>With 4 to 7 years of experience in a relevant technical or scientific facility/laboratory, ideally within Chemistry or a related field</li>
<li>Familiarity with basic laboratory operations, including inventory management and equipment maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment</li>
<li>Supporting risk assessments, COSHH, health and safety protocols and basic HSE regulations to the research team.</li>
<li>Know-how and experience in preparing chemical solutions and handling chemicals and chemical waste.</li>
<li>You should have verbal and written English language skills.</li>

Laboratory Technician- 12 Month contract

<div><ul><li>You will be responsible for the strategic management of our laboratory, including developing strategies to identify and manage risks.</li>
<li>You will also lead the planning of laboratory projects, advise the function leadership on future needs, and oversee the optimisation of space, equipment and technical services to support research needs.</li>
<li>You will interface with the building management team to oversee all laboratory-related matters, ensuring the infrastructure and space remains functional, safe, and fit for purpose.</li>
<li>You will manage space allocation, infrastructural needs, and health and safety compliance, while supporting research through effective facilities planning and coordination with the Research team.</li>
<li>You will be responsible for managing chemical, gas, equipment and consumable inventories by working with the in-house Procurement and Research teams.</li>
<li>You will oversee the management and operations of all technical services within the research laboratory, including line management of technical staff.</li>
<li>You may also be required to act as a First Aider and / or Fire Marshal.</li>
</ul>
Requirements<ul>
<li>
Minimum bachelor&rsquo;s degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering or Physical Science subject.</li>
<li>7 to 10 years of working experience in a relevant technical or scientific facility/laboratory, ideally within Chemistry or a related field with at least 2 years in a managing role.</li>
<li>Proven experience managing technical teams and specialist facilities is essential, including coordinating major and minor works to agreed specifications, timelines, and budgets.</li>
<li>Demonstrable planning and risk management skills, with experience in developing and implementing strategies for laboratory facilities that support research needs.</li>
<li>Strong technical knowledge is essential, including expertise in chemical management and safety, understanding building systems and familiarity with health and safety legislation and compliance. Electrical and mechanical expertise are also advantageous.</li>
<li>You will also have excellent English communication skills and consultative approach, with the ability to work collaboratively at a senior level and deliver strategic priorities aligned with the functional and company goals.</li>
