The Staff, HRBP partners with executive leadership and front line managers across G&amp;A and R&amp;D as a trusted advisor and change agent to develop and implement people and culture strategies that drive talent outcomes and business performance. This role requires strong coaching skills, change management, and the ability to plan and execute flawlessly on people-related activities (ex: organizational design, performance management cycles, employee engagement surveys, etc.).
This role is based in our headquarters office, in Brisbane California, and has a hybrid in-office schedule. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has strong strategic and functional HR knowledge and thrives in a role working across a variety of teams and managing multiple people initiatives.
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Build strong business acumen to effectively advise and influence leaders on strategic talent priorities and workforce planning</li><li>
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.</li><li>
Guide business through all talent processes, including performance management cycle, compensation processes, business unit restructuring, workforce and succession planning, and manager training.</li><li>
Partner with hiring managers, Talent Acquisition, and Total Rewards on opening and closing roles aligned to CareDx&rsquo;s job architecture and org design.</li><li>
Provide day to day performance management guidance to all levels of leadership (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, performance improvement plans.</li><li>
Support onboarding of new leaders, including facilitation of new leader assimilation.</li><li>
Manage and resolve a broad range of ER issues in partnership with HR Ops and Legal team, including investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations, and HR policies and practices, among others</li><li>
Deliver and refine talent development programs, such as manager training series and mentoring programs, in collaboration with HR colleagues and other cross functional stakeholders.</li><li>
Demonstrate a high level of ownership and commitment to achieving results when engaging with colleagues and stakeholders</li><li>
Promote a Growth mindset and strategic agility, driving innovation, learning quickly, and pushing for what&rsquo;s possible near and long term</li><li>
Participate in special projects and initiatives that require cross organizational collaboration efforts</li><li>

Minimum Education, Experience, &amp; Specialized Knowledge Required:<ul><li>
BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience</li><li>
5+ year in progressive HR positions, demonstrating accountability, impact and growth</li><li>
Prior experience partnering with VP and C-Suite level executives</li><li>
Prior experience working for pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, life science and gene or cell therapy preferred.</li><li>
Strategic mindset with excellent project management with strong delivery &amp; execution focus</li><li>
Experience leading departmental/functional change initiatives from end to end</li><li>
Self-motivated and assertive with the ability to hunt down answers and drive solutions autonomously</li><li>
Ability to engage and influence without direct authority.</li><li>
Proven track record in implementing employee engagement strategies and plans</li><li>
Strong MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills, with creative presentation and advanced excel skills.</li><li>
Displays strong business acumen &ndash; sees the big picture and operates with perspective</li><li>
Resilience and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple priorities.</li><li>
Comfortable partnering with employees and leadership and moving regularly between the tactical and strategic priorities</li><li>
Ability to travel as required</li></ul>
San Francisco Bay Area Roles:
The anticipated base salary range for candidates who will work in Brisbane, California is $130,000 to $150,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Payroll, the Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of biweekly in-house payroll for 600+ employees across multiple states, ensuring full compliance with SOX guidelines. This role serves as the sole preparer of payroll and stock transactions and collaborates closely with Human Resources and Finance to maintain payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to lead improvements, partner cross-functionally, and help shape a best-in-class payroll experience in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Independently process biweekly in-house payroll and stock transactions under strict SOX compliance.</li><li>Own and resolve day-to-day payroll-related issues, communicating directly with employees and managers.</li><li>Train managers and employees on ADP Workforce Now and timekeeping systems to ensure compliance and user proficiency.</li><li>Prepare and deliver periodic payroll and financial reports for management, accounting, and audit purposes.</li><li>Liaise with ADP to resolve tax issues and establish payroll accounts in new states.</li><li>Support audits including 401(k), Workers&rsquo; Compensation, and general payroll audits.</li><li>Identify and support implementation of automation, analytics, and system upgrades to improve accuracy and efficiency.</li><li>Conduct ad hoc analyses and contribute to special projects as needed.</li><li>Serve as backup to the Senior Payroll Manager during absences or emergencies.</li></ul>
Qualifications &amp; Skills
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in multi-state, in-house payroll processing for 600+ employees; experience in publicly traded companies preferred.</li><li>Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).</li><li>Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).</li><li>Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; ability to register new state accounts.</li><li>Solid understanding of labor laws and payroll best practices.</li><li>Experience with general ledger reconciliation and accounting principles.</li><li>Skilled in managing benefits-related deductions (e.g., health insurance, 401(k), FSA) on payroll end.</li><li>High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Demonstrate resourcefulness and creative problem-solving in the face of ambiguity and unexpected challenges.</li><li>Customer service oriented, providing clear support to employees on payroll matters.</li><li>Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.</li><li>Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.</li><li>Effective collaboration across HR, Finance, and IT teams.</li><li>Excellent time management and ability to meet payroll deadlines.</li><li>Commitment to be present every other week for payroll processing.</li><li>Experience supporting internal and external audits.</li><li>Familiarity with automation tools and system upgrades.</li><li>Adaptability to changing regulations, technologies, and organizational needs.</li></ul>
