 Job Summary
 
 
 
 In the ICU of a hospital, patients are often in critical condition and need constant monitoring and care. ICU nurses review data from special equipment to track a patient&rsquo;s heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and other vitals. They also carry out more traditional nursing duties such as administering medications and communicating with patients regarding their condition.
 
 
 
 Essential Functions
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Performs a thorough and timely assessment of patient&rsquo;s condition including physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative aspects.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identifies problems/nursing needs including discharge needs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Intervenes appropriately to address identified problems and needs. Evaluates effectiveness of care and revises plan if necessary.
 </li>
 <li>
 Transcribes, verifies and carries out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner
 </li>
 <li>
 Manages time efficiently/sets priorities appropriately.
 </li>
 <li>
 Initiates and effectively maintains IV therapy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follows the 5 &ldquo;rights&rdquo; when administering medications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinates patient care and verifies, coordinates and carries out physicians orders accurately.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinates interdepartmental activities (i.e. lab, radiology, etc).To ensure timely, efficient care.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinates interdepartmental transfer smoothly and efficiently.
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicates and coordinates with Case Manager to ensure timely discharge, patient satisfaction and quality care along the continuing of care
 
 
 </li>

 Minimum Education/Certifications
 
 
 
 Graduate of an accredited program in nursing.
 
 
 Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of NJ.
 
 
 Certifications required: BLS (American Heart Association). ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification preferred.
 
 
 
 Minimum Work Experience
 
 
 
 2 year or more experience in an acute care setting preferred.
 
 
 Vent Care Experience.
 
 
 
 Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
 
 Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed
 
 
 
 CareWell Health provides a salary/hourly rate range for all open positions to comply with New Jersey Law. The rates listed for each position is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member&rsquo;s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity). The salary range does not include bonuses/incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation which can be discussed in detail with your talent acquisition specialist.
 
 
 
 
 
 The salary/hourly rate range for this position is: $43.96 - $49.47
