Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist II is responsible for optimizing the use of company assets in the acquisition of goods and services. Develop knowledge about supply of materials, formulating short- and long-term strategies to ensure quality and continuity of supply while minimizing cost.
Job Responsibilities
<ul><li>Interfaces with Caris Life Sciences suppliers. Primary liaison between Caris Life Sciences and the supplier for communication of product requirements, timelines, sample requirements, inventory builds, and ongoing material requirements.
</li><li>Purchase corporate requirements for assigned materials from approved and qualified suppliers in sufficient lead-time to prevent material shortages
</li><li>Maintain accurate supplier history and performance data
</li><li>Meet with suppliers&rsquo; sales representative in order to evaluate their services and products to seek out cost reductions, quality improvements, or new products
</li><li>Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established Purchasing and Accounting policies, and standards of ethical conduct
</li><li>Communicates updates to both internal and external customers
</li><li>Secures settlements with suppliers on any issues that have caused company losses (poor quality, delivery delays, etc.).
</li><li>Expedites solution of any issues that arise in relation to delivery date, quality, quantity, and cost of purchased material
</li><li>Obtains best price, terms and conditions from approved suppliers.
</li><li>Recommend cost savings improvements through changes of purchasing systems, sources, and quality.

</li></ul>Required Qualifications
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree
</li><li>2 to 3 years of experience in a supply chain and/or procurement capacity
</li><li>Conditions of Employment: Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.
</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Experience with computer operations, cost/price analysis and accounting/invoicing practices
</li><li>Knowledge of business law, economics, negotiations and finance
</li><li>Experience with materials requirement planning, computer operations and inventory control techniques
</li><li>Experience with value analysis, forecasting, cost/price analysis, all internal systems impacting purchasing, production processes (internal and at the supplier), accounting, markets impacting assigned products and short- and long-range planning
</li></ul>Core Skills &amp; Competencies
<ul><li>Self-motivated with above average interpersonal skills
</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and with all management levels within the organization
</li></ul>Physical Demands
<ul><li>Will work at a desk / computer as well as the occasional use of copiers, fax machines, and scanners
</li><li>Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail
</li><li>Must possess ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
</li><li>Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion
</li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
