Carriage Services is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Part-Time Video Editor to support our in-house multimedia efforts across a multi-state organization.
You&rsquo;ll help shape compelling video stories for internal communications, training, recruiting, event recaps, executive messaging, and field-facing content, ensuring every delivery aligns with the brand, tone, and strategic goals.
This role is ideal for an editor who&rsquo;s fast, collaborative, and confident, handling full post-production from raw footage to final exports.
Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time (Must live in local distance)
Location: Primarily working from home but will be required to come to office as needed. 3040 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056

Job Duties
Video &amp; Post-Production Editing (Brand visuals, voice, narrative)
<ul><li>Edit and assemble footage into polished videos that reflect Carriage&rsquo;s brand and storytelling goals
</li><li>Review shooting scripts, notes, and raw footage to create a shot/scene decision list that supports continuity and narrative value
</li><li>Perform advanced editing tasks: cutting, trimming, sequencing, pacing, b-roll selection, and narrative structure
</li><li>Apply color correction and/or color grading, audio enhancement, basic cleanup/mixing, and finishing touches
</li><li>Add titles, lower thirds, light motion graphics, and simple visual effects when needed
</li><li>Ensure final edits match creative direction and objectives provided by the task owner
</li></ul>Project &amp; Media Management
<ul><li>Manage multiple projects at once while meeting deadlines and communicating progress
</li><li>Organize media, proxies, project files, and deliverables (clear naming/versioning)
</li><li>Export and deliver platform-ready versions (web, internal channels, social) in required specs
</li><li>Conduct quality control (audio levels, captions if applicable, brand accuracy, export settings)
</li></ul>Collaboration
<ul><li>Work closely with the Senior Multimedia Specialist on priorities, timelines, and feedback rounds
</li><li>Communicate clearly, ask the right questions early, and keep projects moving efficiently
</li></ul>Qualifications
Required
<ul><li>Proven experience editing professional video content (portfolio required)
</li><li>Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
</li><li>Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and attention to detail
</li><li>Comfortable editing interviews, executive messages, event recaps, and training-style content
</li><li>Ability to take feedback well and iterate quickly
</li><li>Dependable and organized, able to manage files and deadlines without hand-holding
</li></ul>Preferred
<ul><li>After Effects experience (basic motion graphics, titles, lower thirds)
</li><li>Audio cleanup tools/workflows (noise reduction, EQ, compression basics)
</li><li>Color workflows (Lumetri, LUTs, basic grading)
</li><li>Familiarity with Frame.io (or similar review tools), SharePoint/Drive/Dropbox workflows
</li><li>Experience creating multiple cuts for different audiences/platforms</li></ul></div>
