Cars Towing and Transportation is looking for an experienced Mechanic to work in our Merrillville, Indiana location</p><div><br>
Job Responsibilities and Duties:<br>
<ul><li>Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages</li><li>Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions</li><li>Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts</li><li>Maintaining record of parts inventory and serviced vehicles</li><li>Analyzing diagnostic test results</li><li>Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.</li><li>Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments</li><li>Corrects vehicle deficiencies</li></ul></div><div><br>
Requirements:<br>
<ul><li>Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine</li><li>Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics</li><li>Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools</li><li>Welding experience necessary</li><li>Heavy Truck diesel and fabrication experience necessary</li><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Teamwork/Interpersonal skills</li><li>Communication skills</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills</li><li>A valid driver's license</li><li>Must be able to past a drug test</li></ul></div><div><br>
