Job Description: Group Leader - MTM</div>
Department: Crossdock Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Site Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing the necessary leadership for Team Members and Supervisors in our cross-dock operations.<div> 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES</div><div><ul><li>
Will support a safety-first mindset by implementing and following all safety procedures and practices.</li><li>
Facilitate good communications with team leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolutions though a servant leadership approach.</li><li>
Will be responsible for the overall dock and material handling.</li><li>
Will ensure the proper training and development of team leaders and team members.</li><li>
Support company (Carter Express &amp; Customer) policies, procedures, and processes.</li><li>
Facilitate good communications and reporting to customer.</li><li>
Ensure that customer standards are being met by verifying that daily customer shipments are 100% on-time.</li><li>
Must be able to effectively plan and manage manpower requirements to ensure efficient operations.</li><li>
Responsible for ensuring accurate payroll reporting and controlling manpower by staying within budget per company and department planning.</li><li>
Must be able to successfully lead and function within a team environment.</li><li>
Must be able to develop and maintain standardized work instructions for all material handling and sub-assembly processes.</li><li>
Responsible for implementation and follow up of countermeasure activities related to customer and/or department issues.</li><li>
Effectively resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner.</li><li>
Receptive of training and performing functions in multiple areas.</li><li>
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through 5S activities.</li><li>
Responsible for proper waste disposal and all other activities associated with the Environmental Management System.
</li><li>Lead Kaizen activities for quality, delivery, cost, and safety.</li><li>
Responsible for maintaining and driving KPI&rsquo;s through lean manufacturing principles, human resources planning, and flexibility.</li><li>
Facilitate effective written and oral communications with team leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolutions.</li><li>
Must be able to assure quality of product including confirmation of shipments via dock audit, yard audit and product sorting as necessary.</li><li>
Will coordinate activities with other Group Leaders, shifts and departments.
</li><li>Ensure PM schedule is followed properly and train when necessary.</li><li>
Help develop and improve skill level of all associates, specifically direct reports.</li><li>
Responsible for covering Team Leader absences as necessary, as well as the ability and willingness to fill in on other processes as needed.</li><li>
Must complete all necessary production reporting and required paperwork.</li><li>
Assist in the development of policies and procedures.</li><li>
Other duties as required.</li></ul></div> 
EDUCATION:
Associate degree and/or five (5) or more years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably the automotive industry. 
EXPERIENCE:
Must have prior experience in high volume material handling, preferably in the automotive industry. Three (3) plus years in supervision strongly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to understand and operate material handling equipment safely and knowledge of projection. Must possess a strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply problem solving strategies to improve processes. Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations preferred. 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job will focus upon the direction of work activities and will be responsible for direct management/supervisory duties affecting hourly associates in our customers facility. Must ensure all customer and Carter Express defined safety, processes, and schedules are followed by all team members. 
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have working knowledge of PC applications and cognitive ability to learn customer software application(s). Will be required to attend training and conduct training as necessary. Able to use and manipulate Microsoft Excel a plus. 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is required to work in warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently close to moving material handling equipment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
