<div><p><b>Position Summary:</b> The primary goal of the ophthalmic scribe is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician in the clinic setting.</p>
<p><b>

</ul>
<p><b>Essential Responsibilities:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as they are being performed by the physician.</li>
<li>List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician.</li>
<li>Provide patients and/or family members with instructions for self-care and follow-up as directed by the physician.</li>
<li>Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays</li>
<li>Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the department manager, facility administrator and doctor(s).</li>
</ul>
<p><b> Physical Demands and Work Environment (per ADA guidelines):</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Talking, Hearing.</li>
<li>Physical requirements: Sedentary work. Involves sitting most of the time. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform each activity.</li></ul></div><div></div>
