PURPOSE OF POSITION
A Social Case Worker I at Catholic Charities:<ul><li>
Performs comprehensive assessment of clients within established guidelines through interviewing, record review, and other appropriate casework methods.
</li><li>Develops, implements and modifies program goals with individuals, families and ancillary service providers.</li><li>
Monitors and assesses client progress towards identified goals.</li><li>
Provides crisis intervention and supportive services to assist clients in reaching program goals.</li><li>
Maintains accurate and up-to-date case records; documents client contacts and progress to ensure program compliance and adherence to standards.</li><li>
Implements program objectives and performance standards as directed by supervisor/ management</li><li>
Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with other community-based organizations and parishes for reasons of advocacy, education, resource development and public relations.
</li><li>Plans curriculum and facilitates support/educational groups/classes for clients.
</li><li>Maintains accurate and timely program statistical data to meet reporting requirements. Enters data and generates reports.</li><li>
Demonstrates skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, clients and community.</li><li>
Supports, promotes and adheres to Catholic Charities&rsquo; vision, mission, values and Code of Ethics.</li><li>
Reflects Catholic Charities&rsquo; commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect.</li><li>
Uses creativity and innovation in program development and service delivery.</li><li>
Maintains confidentiality of client and agency information.</li><li>
Maintains and shares an accurate record of daily schedule.</li><li>
Regular and predictable attendance.</li></ul>
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
 Demonstrate strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
</li><li>Knowledge of and ability to apply the basic theories and practices of counseling and social services, interviewing and assessment techniques, as well as professional reports and document preparation.</li><li>
Knowledge and ability to apply case management that is trauma informed, specifically trauma around abuse and domestic violence.</li><li>
Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, other employees, organizations and the public are required.
</li><li>Show flexibility and adaptability to a fast -paced work environment and crisis situations with clients.</li><li>
Basic knowledge of computers to input information, maintain client and program data, and create communications.</li><li>
Knowledge of the service population&rsquo;s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics as well as appropriate techniques and practices for the client population specifically targeting homeless women and children.</li><li>
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.</li><li>
Demonstrates initiative regarding daily tasks.</li><li>
Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Able to follow, retain and implement directives.</li></ul>
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
<ul><li>Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a human services field from an accredited college or university</li><li>
At least 6 months related experience and/or training.</li><li>
One year of case management with homeless populations preferred.</li><li>
Bilingual preferred.</li></ul>
COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS:
Salary: $23.00/hr., $1/hr. bilingual differential.
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation &amp; Safety; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse &amp; Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.

403b Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% &amp; match up to 2% of annual compensation.</li><li>
Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of employee's and 75% of dependent&rsquo;s premiums is paid by Agency), Dental, &amp; Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start date.</li><li>
May be eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through Federal Student Loans and many more benefits.</li></ul>

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Social Case Worker I at Catholic Charities:<ul><li>
Identifies clients who are eligible for benefits.</li><li>
Assists clients in the benefits application process.</li><li>
Monitors and assesses client progress towards identified goals.</li><li>
Refers and facilitates connection of participants to needed professional and human service agencies and initiates follow-up services as needed.</li><li>
Coordinates case conferences with agencies or persons involved with the participant&rsquo;s self-sufficiency efforts as necessary.</li><li>
Authorizes services of the organization based upon assessment of need and availability of resources.</li><li>
Maintains accurate case records; documents client contacts and progress in order to ensure accountability.</li><li>
Inputs required data information for statistical and monthly reports.</li><li>
Provides feedback on systemic barriers impeding the success of the household or program.</li><li>
Participates as a positive team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving.</li><li>
Demonstrates skills and sensitivity to the cultural/linguistic differences of staff, clients and community.</li><li>
Participates in staff training as required.</li><li>
Plans and provides training for community agencies and groups as needed.</li><li>
Completes or provides input to reports documenting program activities.</li><li>

Needs to demonstrate strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of the theories and practices of counseling and social work, skills in the use of interviewing and assessment techniques, skills in preparing professional reports and documents, skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, organizations and the public are required.</li><li>
Knowledge of the service population&rsquo;s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and the appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.</li><li>
Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base.</li></ul>
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum qualification of Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited four-year college or university in related field; and three to five years related shelter operations experience and/or training. Human services, social work degree preferred. Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred. HMIS training and experience preferred.
