Position Summary</b></h2>
<p>
The receptionist will help welcome guests and clients to Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio&rsquo;s main office at MidPointe Tower. The receptionist will be part of a team of individuals who cover the front desk and manage the main phone line throughout the work week, Monday through Friday. This position will normally cover 15 &ndash; 20 hours per week.</p>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Essential Job Function:</b></h2>
<ul><li>Welcome diverse guests, with various language needs, at the reception window with courtesy and kindness; help them connect with the person or program they are seeking.</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with various staff members across the agency to ensure clients and visitors are assisted in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Receive and sign for deliveries; call or inform the recipient of a delivery.</li>
<li>Answer the main agency phone number; transfer calls to agency personnel or refer callers to external resources.</li>
<li>Review agency voicemail regularly and forward calls to agency personnel or make call backs to connect people to appropriate resources.</li>
<li>Assist with the sorting and distribution of agency mail, as needed.</li>
<li>Open and close the reception area.</li>
<li>Provide administrative assistance on projects as assigned.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:</b></h2>
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent work experience.</li>
<li>Effective communication skills.</li>
<li>Understanding basic computer and phone skills, for example, the ability to send and receive email and place, receive, and forward telephone calls.</li>
</ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Preferred Qualifications and Skills:</b></h2>
<ul><li>2 or more years of experience in secretarial or receptionist work.</li>
<li>Knowledge and fluency in a language other than English preferred (Spanish, Arabic, French or other).</li>
</ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Organizational Responsibility:</b></h2>
<p>
Employees of Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio will have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based agency and adhere to the policies of Catholic Charities. Employees will not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic Faith nor publicly advocate for any position in conflict with Catholic teaching, or the specific positions of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati or the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This requirement includes any public speech, demonstration or writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies.</p>

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.</p>

Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:</p>

<li>Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment</li>
<li>Talk to other employees/clients and hear them;</li>
<li>See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents</li>
<li>Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds</li>
<li>Able to walk within the office to distribute mail.</li>
