Case Manager I – Employment
 (Temporary – Six Month Appointment)
 
Ministry: Newcomers MRS
 Primary Office: Alexandria
 Hours per Week: 40 Hours non-exempt
 Staff Supervisor: Employment Lead
 Telework Available: Hybrid 1 day, Friday, after 90 days of training
 Starting Hourly Rate: $24.14
 Office Hours: 9-5
 
Position Description: 
The Case Manager I-Employment Specialist of Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, Migration & Refugee Services, assists and prepares refugees and asylees to become self-sufficient through employment. Working under the Refugee Support Services Employment Program he/she is responsible for fulfilling all contractual obligations of the state-funded grant. This role is contingent on grant funding.
 
Position Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Conduct program orientation, intake, and assessment for clients; develop individual employment plans and provide case management to remove barriers to self-sufficiency.</li>
<li>Enroll clients into ESL classes & vocational trainings to increase employability.</li>
<li>Connect clients with job opportunities.</li>
<li>Prepares clients to enter the workforce within 90 days of arrival. Provide services to include orientation to the job market, skills assessment, career guidance, resume development, job application assistance, job referrals, interview preparation, job placement and follow up.</li>
<li>Educate clients about resources available in the community, including public benefits; make internal and external referrals to support client self-sufficiency and integration.</li>
<li>Educate clients about legal documents required for work, provide referrals for adjustment of status and naturalization.</li>
<li>In alignment with agency standards, document all services in case notes, and maintain required eligibility documentation; enter client data into agency databases in accordance with grant requirements.</li>
</ul>
Other Duties: 
<ul>
<li>Provide services within the required timelines.</li>
<li>Develop new employer and training provider partnerships.</li>
<li>Attend regular supervision meetings, case consultations, contribute toward crisis mitigation strategies.</li>
<li>Follows all agency policies & procedures..</li>
<li>Other job-related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications & Skills: 
<ul>
<li>Effective oral and written communication skills</li>
<li>Bilingual English and 1 other language spoken by clients: Ukrainian, Dari, Pashtu, Arabic, Spanish, Amharic.</li>
<li>Flexible to work irregular hours.</li>
<li>Willingness to uphold Catholic social teaching in the workplace</li>
<li>Fluency in Microsoft office, excel, & other relevant software; strong presentation skills.</li>
<li>Ability to learn new tasks and procedures, comply with processes, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.</li>
</ul>
Education and Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Associates degree with 3-5 years’ experience required or bachelor’s degree in social services field preferred.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a culturally diverse environment, 2 years refugee resettlement experience preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid US driver’s license, have a good driving record (including 3+ positive points on the VA Motor Vehicle Record), and have at least three years of US driving experience. Willing to drive clients.</li>

Physical Demands: 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Specific vision requirements due to computer work and driving a motor vehicle. Light to moderate lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Office of Hispanic Ministry assists Pastors in their mission to evangelize and support the pastoral needs of the culturally diverse communities of Spanish speaking Catholics in their communities and to fully integrate them into the life of their parish. The Office provides this assistance through the close collaboration and coordination with parish, school, and diocesan ministry leadership as well as related community organizations and lay movements, training and development offerings, diocesan-sponsored events, and advocacy efforts.
 
Under the direction of the Director of Hispanic Ministry, the Program Specialist for Hispanic
 Ministry Programs and Digital Communications supports the development, coordination, and
 facilitation of programs and events led by the Office of Hispanic Ministry across the Diocese.
 The Program Specialist also manages key digital media and communications efforts to promote
 ministry initiatives, enhance outreach, and foster engagement within the Hispanic Catholic
 community.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with diocesan offices, parish leaders, and ministry partners to ensure effective programming, planning, participation, and quality delivery for assigned programs, which include but may not be limited to:</li>
<li>Quinceañera Retreat Ministry</li>
<li>Conference for the Engaged (Spanish)</li>
<li>Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion workshops (Spanish)</li>
<li>Pastoral Juvenil events</li>
<li>USCCB Pastoral Plan in-services</li>
<li>Hispanic Diocesan Committee meetings</li>
<li>Manage planning timelines, registration, materials, vendor coordination, hospitality, and day-of execution.</li>
<li>Provide basic budget tracking and administrative support for assigned programs.</li>
<li>Maintain regular communication with the Director regarding program progress, challenges, and recommended improvements.</li>
<li>Assist with logistics and on-site support for diocesan and parish-level events, including retreats, workshops, conferences, meetings, and formation programs beyond those assigned.</li>
<li>Build and maintain relationships with parish leaders and community members to support culturally responsive ministry programming.</li>
<li>Promote diocesan Hispanic ministry initiatives and encourage parish participation.</li>
<li>Serve as a resource to parishes by sharing materials, best practices, and relevant information that supports Hispanic Catholic life and formation.</li>
<li>Coordinate and execute digital communications as an integrated tool for outreach, including content planning and creation for social media and web announcements.</li>
<li>Create and distribute mass emails and digital publications; maintain consistent branding, tone, and adherence to diocesan communications policies and best practices.</li>
<li>Develop media content and event materials as needed, including, but not limited to, flyers, posters, bulletins and web announcements. Coordinate with outside vendors for special projects.</li>
<li>Stay current on communications trends and ministry best practices; participate in ongoing formation and training.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Hispanic Ministry.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS: 
<ul>
<li>Knowledge/Skills:</li>
<li>Must have an in-depth understanding of and commitment to Catholic teachings and practices as well as strong human relations skills with a thorough understanding of and sensitivity to the Hispanic culture.</li>
<li>Must be fully bilingual (Spanish/English).</li>
<li>Working knowledge of social media, social media advertising and corresponding tools and platforms, including but not limited to Facebook Publishing Tools, Insights and Ad Manager</li>
<li>Strong familiarity with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere)</li>
<li>Must be detail oriented with excellent grammar, written and oral communications skills and have the ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and be collaborative.</li>
<li>Must be able to create basic documents, spreadsheets, presentations and emails using MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.</li>
<li>The ability to develop, manage and evaluate programs and initiate improved program delivery required.</li>
<li>Education:</li>
<li>BS or BA in theology, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Licenses/Certifications:</li>
<li>Must maintain a current driver’s license.</li>
<li>Years and Types of Experience:</li>
<li>Three to five years of professional ministry experience using digital and/or social media in communications, and project management, public relations, or marketing.</li>
