<div><div><div>POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for engaging volunteers to further the mission of Catholic Social Services through volunteerism and engagement. This includes volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, evaluation, recognition, and tracking. The position reports to the Community Engagement Manager and works closely with the Refugee Assistance and Immigration Services (RAIS) program staff. Enlisting the input and involvement of colleagues and the community, this position identifies and implements opportunities for involvement with RAIS programs and clients.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT
The communications team has the great privilege of sharing the stories of our community and engaging our community partners. With a focus on ethical storytelling and community engagement, we share the perspectives and experiences of our neighbors and create opportunities for our neighbors to engage in programs and partner together to help those in need.
Your work on our team has the potential to build understanding, enact change, and create a more prosperous community for all who call Anchorage home.In particular, your efforts will support RAIS in welcoming and integrating refugees&mdash;helping new Alaskans achieve stability, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. 
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and treat all individuals with dignity and respect. Individual must have a sincere commitment to the mission of CSS, its programs, and the people they serve. Must be professional and represent Catholic Social Services in all settings with a gracious and positive attitude.
Stress Tolerance: Displays emotional resilience. Deals with difficult and adverse events while maintaining professionalism and caring. Responds appropriately in the face of tension, emotion, and resistance. Seeks support from others when necessary and uses appropriate coping techniques.
Knowledge: Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care is a plus. Knowledge of computer programs such as Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Suite are required.
Skills: Must have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and work well as a member of a team. Must be flexible, dependable, possess good written and oral communication skills and demonstrate attention to detail and organization. This position will meet new supporters in their first step of the donor pipeline and is responsible for creating positive experiences and strong interactions with supporters. Must have strong social and interpersonal skills. 
RESPONSIBILITIES
Volunteer Coordination<ul><li> Data entry, including processing new applications, making reports, and other tasks as needed.</li><li> Work with RAIS programs on maintaining volunteer hours.</li><li> Work with HR to conduct background checks.</li><li> Maintain communication with potential volunteers through the application to program process.</li><li> Maintain current and archived volunteer files and databases.</li><li> Monitor the volunteer email and calendar.</li><li> Conduct volunteer orientation and follow up calls to new volunteers.</li><li> Assist in developing and updating training materials.</li><li> Create strong rapport and relationships with volunteers.</li><li> Work with volunteers at the program level to gain a good understanding of volunteer duties and volunteer interests.</li><li> Work closely with development to ensure all volunteers are being properly stewarded and given opportunities to support the agency further should they be interested.</li><li> Provide event support with volunteer recruitment, day of organization, and appreciation.</li><li> Develop and maintain a comprehensive recruitment, orientation, training, retention, and recognition plan.</li><li> Ensure that all volunteers are knowledgeable and feel valued.</li><li> Attend volunteer events as needed, occasionally during evening and weekend hours.</li><li> Connect volunteers to RAIS clients through volunteer opportunities.</li></ul>
Community Engagement<ul><li> In partnership with the communication team, develop and maintain appropriate collateral materials for recruitment of volunteers.</li></ul>

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience Requirement: One (1) year in volunteer management with specific experience in volunteer recruitment and training required.
A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
A valid driver&rsquo;s license and auto insurance are required.
An advanced degree is preferred. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard indoor office environment. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Frequently sitting or standing at a desk for several hours at a time.
Travel out of Alaska is rare. Occasional travel within Anchorage is required.

Volunteer Coordinator

<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div>POSITION SUMMARY</div> 

The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) SSVF Case Manager will be responsible for the case management of a portfolio of Veteran families who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. The SSVF Case Manager will work closely with each family on their caseload to help them achieve long-term housing stability in the shortest time possible. The SSVF Case Manager will connect the family with SSVF temporary financial assistance and help the family to obtain and utilize other available resources and benefits. The SSVF Case Manager is also responsible for developing and implementing a client-defined, goal-oriented Housing Stability Plan for each family on their caseload.
We are committed to fostering professional growth by offering a Case Manager Career Development Pathway. CSS provides the training and support needed for case managers to develop their skills, earn certifications, and promote through the career pathway from Case Manager I to IV.
Case Managers may be hired as Level 1 or Level 3 depending on qualifications.
Case Manager I (Entry-level)<ul><li>
Education: High School Diploma or GED</li><li>
Experience: 1 year as a CSS Assistant Case Manager or in a related direct service role</li><li>
Promotion: After 1 year as a CSS Case Manager I, team members are eligible for promotion to Case Manager II</li></ul>
Case Manager III (Experienced-level)<ul><li>
Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in social work, human services, counseling, or related fields (or 4 years of applicable experience)</li><li>
Experience: 4 years of relevant experience equivalent to a CSS Case Manager</li><li>
Training: Certification as a Counselor Technician or Chemical Dependency Counselor (Levels I or II) required</li><li>
Promotion: After 2 year as a CSS Case Manager III, team members are eligible for promotion to Case Manager IV</li></ul>

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT</div> 

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is a case management program for homeless, or at-risk for homelessness, Veterans and their families. SSVF Case Managers will assist you with identifying and addressing barriers, increasing self-sufficiency, and securing permanent housing. We work closely with the VA and other community service providers to ensure that our clients are connected with any and all resources available to them.
We serve Veterans in the Anchorage Municipality and in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.<div>

Knowledge Requirements:<ul><li>
Knowledge of and ability to practice SSVF core concepts; Housing First, Crisis Response, and Client Choice.</li><li>
Knowledge of and ability to practice trauma-informed care.</li><li>
Experience working with individuals experiencing/at risk of homelessness. Experiencing working with individuals in crisis.</li><li>
Knowledge of available community resources in the Anchorage and MATSU region, especially resources serving Veterans and people experiencing homelessness/people at risk of homelessness.</li><li>
Knowledge of housing resources in Anchorage, Landlord/Tenant Laws and Fair Housing Regulations in Alaska</li><li>
Knowledge of client confidentiality practices.</li><li>
Knowledge of the SSVF Program eligibility requirements.</li></ul>
Skill Requirements:<ul><li>
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office.</li><li>
Experiencing using Apricot, Intacct, and AKHMIS software.</li><li>
Proficient to expert level data entry skills.</li><li>
Proficient with Windows operating systems.</li></ul><div>
 RESPONSIBILITIES</div> 

Maintains a caseload of households in the SSVF Program. Works with households to assess housing needs, and provides case management and financial assistance to address those needs. Assists clients to secure housing if they are experiencing homelessness.
Utilizes Housing First and Motivational Interviewing approaches to engage and work with Veteran households. In collaboration with Veteran households, develops Housing Stability Plans, and connects households with additional VA and community resources to meet their identified needs in the shortest time possible. Assists clients in accessing and maintaining entitlements and benefits.
Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationship with community resources; attends and participates in appropriate community resource meetings and events.
Participates in street and shelter outreach to identify homeless Veterans and present the SSVF Program as an alternative to homelessness.
Completes thorough intakes and eligibility screenings with referred clients.
Enters client data and case notes into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
Maintains accurate and complete records for each household&rsquo;s case management file. Completes eligibility and recertification requirements in a timely manner.
Adheres to policies and procedures outlined in the SSVF Program Manual.
Travels independently in Anchorage as needed; must be able to transport persons in their own vehicle. Conducts home visits to support clients in achieving housing stabilization.
Other duties as assigned.<div>
QUALIFICATIONS</div> 

CSS has a career development pathway for case managers. Team members may be hired as a Case Manager I, or Case Manager III.
Case Manager I
Minimum Education Qualification: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience Qualification: One (1) year as a CSS Assistant Case Manager, or one (1) year direct service experience or relevant/related experience.
Case Manager II
Minimum Education Qualification: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience Qualification: One (1) year as a CSS Case Manager I.
Case Manager III
Minimum Education Qualification: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in social work, human services, social services, addiction, counseling, psychiatric nursing, or psychology. Four (4) years of directly applicable experience may be substituted for the required education.
Minimum Experience Qualification: Four (4) years experience equivalent to a CSS Case Manager.
Minimum Training Qualification: Counselor Technician Certification, Chemical Dependency Counselor I Certification, or Chemical Dependency Counselor II Certification.
A relevant combination of education and experience may be considered.
Case Manager IV
Minimum Education Qualification: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in social work, human services, social services, addiction, counseling, psychiatric nursing, or psychology.
Minimum Experience Qualification: Two (2) years as a CSS Case Manager III.
Minimum Training Qualification: Counselor Technician Certification, Chemical Dependency Counselor I Certification, or Chemical Dependency Counselor II Certification.
Principles of trauma informed care, stages of change, motivational interviewing, client centered case management, and Housing First. Social Justice Advocacy, collaboration and partnership abilities, problem solving, communication, and customer service skills. Military veterans and their family members are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate has experience providing case management activities to veterans and/or the homeless population and embraces a Housing First approach to helping homeless veterans individuals and families stabilize and return to permanent and traditional housing.<div>
