</div><p></p><div><p><b>Role Overview</b></p>
</div><div><p>The Site Reliability Engineer (London) is a role served by experienced technologists with a diverse set of skills ranging from software development to systems, network, application, and/or database management. The Cboe Site Reliability Engineering team is a highly skilled unit responsible for platform engineering, configuration management, implementation, capacity planning, performance tuning, analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, and process automation.</p>
</div><div><p>This position is instrumental in support of both Cboe&rsquo;s European markets and Cboe's follow-the-sun support model for its US Global Trading Hours (GTH) markets, providing critical overnight and early-session coverage from London that ensures continuous, high-availability operations across Cboe's real-time low-latency trading platforms. The London-based SRE provides technical support to Cboe Trade Desk and Operations Support Center staff across time zones, and works closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Network Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues and coordinate platform configuration updates. A Site Reliability Engineer must be able to work independently with little to no direct supervision in performing their duties.</p><br>
</div><p></p><div><p><b>Major Job Duties</b></p>
</div><div><ul><li><p><b>Platform Configuration Management:</b> Provide configuration management of new and existing trading platforms and support implementation of new features and functionality based on new business requirements. Monitor development activities, change management tickets, and evaluate their impact on Cboe Operations. Execute daily change tickets assigned to Site Reliability Engineering in support of updates to production, disaster recovery, and certification systems. While the primary focus of this role involves support of bare-metal on-premises infrastructure, experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Incident Response &amp; Technical Troubleshooting:</b> Serve as a technical responder for production incidents occurring during US GTH market hours covered from the London time zone. Participate in incident triage, root cause analysis, and resolution in coordination with globally distributed engineering and operations teams. Provide timely, precise communication to stakeholders during active incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews and remediation tracking to drive long-term platform stability.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>System Availability &amp; Technical Support:</b> Provide technical support and operational oversight to sustain resiliency and high availability of critical business operations. Monitor production, disaster recovery, and certification systems for issues. Analyze and optimize performance of real-time trading platforms. Operate and maintain low-latency bare-metal infrastructure, including hardware health, Linux OS tuning, and kernel-bypass networking stacks such as Solarflare/Onload. Investigate software defects. Assist the build team to resolve build/deployment issues.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Reporting &amp; Data Analysis:</b> Create and improve upon existing reports related to Operations management. Analyze technical data sets (e.g., order entry, market data, matching engine logs) to troubleshoot or explain perceived issues. Execute SQL queries against a database to perform data analysis for customers and associates. Service and support historical data product requests.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Capacity Planning:</b> Drive capacity planning decisions for Cboe Exchanges and support capacity planning needs of various Cboe business units. Participate in Capacity Planning meetings with engineering and technical operations management staff.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>Automation &amp; Process Improvement:</b> Support task and system health automation efforts through development, testing, and maintenance of Python tools. Leverage AI to maximize efficiency.</p>
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p><b>On-Call &amp; Weekend Testing:</b> Participate in weekend testing (e.g., capacity testing, fail-over, etc.) and provide follow-the-sun on-call technical support as part of Cboe's global Operations team.</p><br>

</b></p><p></p><p>The Trade Desk Specialist role is served by experienced financial technologists with responsibilities that include providing customer support and production level operational oversight of one or more real-time low latency Cboe exchange trading platforms (e.g., BYX, BZX, C1, C2, CFE, EDGA, EDGX) covering one or more asset classes (e.g., equities, foreign currencies, futures, options). This role is responsible for providing first level world class support in conjunction with solving problems, monitoring systems, and ensuring systems maintain a healthy state and troubleshooting when they are not. Trade Desk Specialists will often act as a liaison between different stakeholders including global and regional banks, buy side firms, corporates, prime brokers, and vendors along with internal business and technology teams. A Trade Desk Specialist must be able to work independently with little to no direct supervision in performing their duties. Additionally, individuals in this role will have many opportunities to provide input into the full lifecycle of projects and to directly impact the success of the team and the greater organization.</p><p></p><p>
Responsibilities:</p><p></p><ul><li>
Provide customers and sales support and training related to platform behavior, order processing behavior, market structure, and feature/functions.</li><li>
Perform daily system checks and periodically review audit logs to verify system changes. Monitor active production, disaster recovery, and certification/test environment systems and ensure Cboe platforms and systems are operating as expected. Take direct action to resolve known issues. Provide customers, regulators, and the business with live updates related to systems and trading issues.</li><li>
Provide exchange platform support including equity listing process management; service cancel order requests; conduct clearly erroneous and obvious error trade reviews; support voluntary price adjustments; service clearing support requests; declare Self Help on away exchanges when warranted; execute real-time order routing changes; conduct futures settlement price verifications; service and support block trade and ECRPs; and monitor auctions/rotations.</li><li>
Liaise with business associates, customers, and software engineers to define and design new features and functions. Test changes to systems and platform functionality prior to deployment and work with software engineering team to resolve systemic issues that are identified. Participate in internal and industry-wide weekend testing as needed.</li><li>
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in one or more areas critical to production operations support by mentoring, providing guidance to, and through training to Cboe staff. Liaise with vendors and operators of facilities supporting critical financial infrastructure.</li><li>
Perform analytical functions to troubleshoot and explain complex technical and/or trading issues, conduct root cause analysis as well as impact analysis studies, and resolve customer issues for Cboe trading systems and other platforms related to Cboe&rsquo;s Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). E.g. market data, order entry, web service APIs. Participate in operational on-call support rotations as needed.</li><li>
Utilize SQL to conduct data mining against databases, a UNIX shell to examine log files, or Cboe proprietary tools in support of gathering and analyzing data to provide reports to and service the needs of customers and business teams.</li><li>
Update internal technical and operations procedures within the Operations team&rsquo;s Confluence space. Draft technical notices and updates to technical specifications.</li><li>
Onboard new clients establish client access to platforms, provision new services, assist customers with establishing default settings (e.g. order entry, routing, entitlements, risk management) based on their usage of a given Cboe platform, and conduct API certification testing and support.</li><li>
Regular attendance at the workplace in a traditional office environment may be required</li><li>
Performs other related duties as required or requested.</li></ul><p></p><p>
Requirements:</p><ul><li>
High School Diploma, GED, Trade, Technical or Vocational School</li><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, Financial Services, Communications, or a related discipline.</li><li>
FINRA Security Industry Essentials Examination (SIE) and Series 57 licenses or ability to obtain within first 8 months of service required</li><li>
At least 3-5 years experience in a security related or technical support position</li><li>
At least 2+ years with UNIX Shell</li><li>
At least 2+ years with SQL</li><li>

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)</b></p>
At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market‑informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $80,750-$104,500, with actual compensation determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.<p></p><p><br>
This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
