</div>
<div></div><ul><li>Accurately assess and process specimens for testing in the general laboratory and reference labs. Adhere to specimen acceptability and rejection criteria.</li>
<li>Ensure all instruments, QC, and maintenance are performed in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Train newly hired lab personnel if needed.</li>
<li>Observe all established &lsquo;universal safety precautions&rsquo;, including proper handling of specimens as biohazards.</li>
<li>Monitors the work environment to identify and improve potentially unsafe practices.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory.</li>
<li>Understands the process of specimen collection, requirements, and storage.</li>
<li>Must be able to answer client/physician questions knowledgeably and courteously, including result retrieval in the Lab computer and reference the lab system.</li>
<li>Exercises good judgment and takes appropriate independent action as needed to perform his/her duties for the Lab.</li>
<li>Answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner.</li>
<li>Maintains a clean and organized work environment.</li>
<li>Motivates others and effectively directs work assignments.</li>
<li>Identify and correct problems.</li>
<li>Review manual entries for results for accuracy.</li>
<li>Performs phlebotomy as needed, including drawing blood and centrifugation of specimens.</li>
<li>May transport specimens from the laboratory to the nearby lab hospital if needed.</li>
<li>Follow HIPAA rules and regulations.</li>
<li>Promote the philosophy and mission of the Lab within the company and with clients.</li>
<li>Report any compliance issues or concerns to the Compliance Officer/HR</li>
<li>Order, pack, and ship samples to be sent out to reference labs.</li>
<li>Print and review the pending log at the end of each shift.</li>
<li>Any additional duties as assigned by Management.</li></ul><br>

<b>Job Qualifications</b><br>
</div><ul><li>Education/Training/Experience</li>
<li>Associate's or bachelor&rsquo;s degree or a science-related degree. Must have at least 1 year of</li>
<li>general laboratory experience.</li>
<li>AMT or ASCP certification required.</li>
<li>Vitros Chemistry analyzer experience preferred</li></ul><br>

</div><ul><li>Prior experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting is preferred</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and safety protocols</li>
<li>Close attention to detail and accuracy</li>
<li>Ability to operate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot basic issues</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>Effective communication skills with clinical staff</li></ul><br>
