Job Summary We are seeking a driven and compassionate Workers&rsquo; Compensation Claim Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of injured workers. In this role, you will take ownership of multiple accounts by &mdash;leading investigations, determining compensability, and guiding each case toward a fair and timely resolution. This position offers the opportunity to grow your technical expertise and can serve as an advanced development path for future supervisory or management roles. As a Claim Specialist, you play a vital role in delivering the high‑quality service our clients count on and upholding CCMSI&rsquo;s commitment to excellence. Responsibilities: When we hire Workers&rsquo; Compensation Adjusters at CCMSI, we look for detail‑driven problem‑solvers who balance empathy with sound judgment, navigate complex regulations with confidence, and deliver fair, timely outcomes that support injured workers and strengthen client trust. Investigate, evaluate and adjust claims in accordance with established claim handling standards and laws. Establish reserves and/or provide reserve recommendations within established reserve authority levels. Review, approve or provide oversight of medical, legal, damage estimates and miscellaneous invoices to determine if reasonable and related to designated claims. Negotiate any disputed bills or invoices for resolution. Authorize and make payments of claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within established payment authority. Negotiate settlements in accordance within Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and state laws, when appropriate. Assist in the selection, referral and supervision of designated claim files sent to outside vendors. (i.e. legal, surveillance, case management, etc.) Review and maintain personal diary on claim system. Assess and monitor subrogation claims for resolution. Compute disability rates in accordance with state laws. Effective and timely coordination of communication with clients, claimants and other appropriate parties throughout the claim adjustment process. Provide notices of qualifying claims to excess/reinsurance carriers. Compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established. Qualifications: Required: 5+ years of Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims handling experience, including full claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution. Responsiveness to internal and external client needs. Strong analytical and negotiation abilities. Knowledge of all lower‑level claim position responsibilities. Adjuster&rsquo;s license may be required based on jurisdiction. Nice to Have: Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency &mdash; highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but not required. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Workers&rsquo; Compensation Claim Supervisor with indemnity experience to lead a single‑account team in our Irvine, California office. This is a hybrid position, and an in‑office presence is required to effectively coach, mentor, and support the team. The Supervisor will oversee a typically 4-5 Examiners and 1 Assistant, guiding the full investigation, evaluation, and resolution of California Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims. This role ensures timely and accurate claim handling, compliance with all CA requirements, and adherence to CCMSI&rsquo;s Corporate Claim Standards. It also serves as a strong developmental path for advancement into management. Responsibilities: Supervise and direct daily workers&rsquo; compensation claim activity for assigned accounts, ensuring compliance with corporate claim standards, client-specific instructions, and California workers&rsquo; compensation laws. Review, assign, and oversee claim files to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant handling by claim staff. Directly handle and provide oversight of complex, litigated, and high-exposure workers&rsquo; compensation claims. Establish, review, and authorize claim reserves within designated authority levels in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements. Evaluate medical, legal, indemnity, and expense invoices to ensure appropriateness, necessity, and claim-relatedness; negotiate disputed charges to resolution. Authorize and process workers&rsquo; compensation payments within established authority using claim management and payment systems. Negotiate settlements in compliance with corporate standards, client instructions, and applicable California regulations. Guide and support claim staff in vendor selection and management, including legal counsel, medical case management, surveillance, and other external resources. Provide coaching, training, performance feedback, and professional development support to assigned claim staff. Maintain review oversight of claim diaries and documentation to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness. Ensure adherence to corporate claim handling standards, internal controls, and special client requirements at all times. Qualifications: Required 10+ years of Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims handling experience, including full claim investigation, evaluation, and resolution. Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee adjusters in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment while maintaining quality and service standards. Strong understanding of California Workers&rsquo; Compensation regulations, claim practices, and compliance requirements. Active SIP is required Effective communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with adjusters, clients, and internal partners. Working knowledge of entry- and mid-level WC adjusting roles and workflows. Reliable attendance during established client service hours for the Irvine branch location. Nice to Have Prior supervisory or people-lead experience within Workers&rsquo; Compensation. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Industry certifications such as [Certification &ndash; e.g., SIP, WCP, AIC]. AIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency &mdash; highly valued for communicating with claimants, employers, or vendors, but not required.
