DEPARTMENT: Retail Banking
JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Banker is responsible for providing excellent service to our clients while processing various banking transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments. The position will also answer client inquiries, resolve issues, and promote the bank&rsquo;s products and services that best meet the client&rsquo;s needs.
*This position will work 20 hours per week*
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>
Process client transactions in a professional and efficient manner while following established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Accept payments for various financial transactions and ensure associated tasks are promptly and accurately processed.</li><li>
Complete additional transactions including, but not limited to, issuing cashier&rsquo;s checks, certified checks, EE bond and money orders; processing stop payment orders and change orders; processing and issuing receipts on items left for collection, night drop and mail deposits.</li><li>
Balance cash drawer according to established procedures and standards, paying special attention to reporting and collection of teller cash differences and operating losses.</li><li>
Maintain the highest level of security by ensuring that security procedures are followed, and transactions are properly documented and recorded; complete IRS forms for large currency transaction reporting by following established procedures and ensuring compliance with federal regulation.</li><li>
Uphold the confidentiality, integrity, and safekeeping of all sensitive client information, currency, coin, and other negotiable instruments.</li><li>
Balance cash vault according to established procedures.</li><li>
Process requests for foreign currency transactions.</li><li>
Identify potential fraud accounts and take appropriate action to prevent loss.</li><li>
Provide support and assist in balancing the ATM machine in a secure, timely, and accurate manner according to established procedures.</li><li>
Follow all established procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations.</li><li>
Maintain basic understanding and knowledge of products and services and refer clients to the appropriate individuals.</li><li>
Actively promote banking products and services to the community.</li><li>
Answer client questions, address client concerns, and provide resolutions to inquiries.</li><li>
May quote client deposit rates.</li><li>
Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive banking experience for all clients.</li><li>
Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.</li><li>
Assist with client outreach and demonstrate support for company culture.</li><li>
Foster and preserve a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.</li><li>
Additional duties and responsibilities may be required to support the company&rsquo;s mission and vision.</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>
Previous banking, client service, or related field with cash handling experience.</li><li>
Excellent client service skills.</li><li>
Capability to prioritize and execute a variety of tasks simultaneously, at times in a demanding environment.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and written communication capabilities.</li><li>
Capability to perform data entry utilizing banking software and Microsoft 365 products, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.</li></ul>
WORKING CONDITIONS:<ul><li>
Duties are performed in a professional office environment.</li><li>
Requires travel to other bank locations.</li><li>
Availability to work on Saturdays.</li><li>
Overtime may be required.</li><li>
Extended periods of standing and ability to lift fifty pounds.</li></ul>
