Cedar Springs Public Schools is in need of a Student Success and Academic Support Coordinator starting with the 2026-2027 school year. The assignment is at Cedar Springs High School. We are excited to engage with quality candidates that are friendly, organized, self-motivated problem solvers and enjoy working in a team environment meeting the individual needs of students through our MTSS structure. 
Responsibilities:<ul><li> 
Owner of positive behavior intervention</li></ul><div><ul><li>
develop authentic relationships via Moments of Genuine Connection to ensure Every Student Known.</li><li>
lead PBIS (i.e. more exemplars of the culture we seek &amp; positive competitions/celebrations to better empower student ownership)</li><li>
connect the &ldquo;3rd leg of the stool&rdquo; w/ frequent calls home</li><li>
assist w/ re-entry meetings</li><li>
Collaborate with Dean of Students about on-going discipline consequences</li><li>
address, finalize log entries, &amp; assign lower to mid-level consequences (please be sure to email all &ldquo;3 legs of the stool&rdquo; to close the loop &amp; control the narrative - the educator(s), parents, student, &amp; office team should be blind copied on the email stating the offense &amp; consequences)</li></ul></div><ul><li>Owner of RtI Scheduler/SOAR Time Lead</li></ul><div><ul><li>
set schedule in RTI</li><li>
student tags</li><li>
student placements- cross-check PS grades with triangles in RTI for accurate placements during SOAR days.</li><li>

Online Learning Mentor<div><ul><li>

monitor &amp; lead sign-out process</li><li>
supervise Early Middle College students on &ldquo;off-days&rdquo;</li><li>
connect the &ldquo;3rd leg of the stool&rdquo; with information about course progress, attendance, &amp; engagement</li></ul></div>
Truancy<div><ul><li>
Co-leader of truancy</li><li>
communicate with &ldquo;3 legs of the stool&rdquo;</li><li>
AIP meetings when scheduled before/after school</li></ul></div> 
Owner of tardy tracking &amp; consequences<div><ul><li>
pull weekly report from PS &amp; assign detentions/ISS via emails to parents &amp; kids</li><li>
send email for 3 tardies in any 1 class (i.e. Heads Up Email &amp; document in PowerSchool)</li><li>
meet with students in person with 4 or more tardies in any one class,</li></ul><ul><li>
 assign consequence</li><li>
document in the Consequences Document</li><li>
 complete PS log</li><li>
 contact parents, via email or phone call, whichever is appropriate</li><li>
 send email to student, appropriate teachers, other admin., parents, caseworkers when appropriate.</li><li>

QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Valid Michigan teaching certificate required</li><li>
Valid Administration certificate preferred, but not required</li><li>
Minimum qualification:</li><li><ul><li>
Earned 60 semester credit hours from an institution of higher education, or</li><li>
Earned an Associate&rsquo;s degree or higher, or</li><li>
Successfully complete an approved formal assessment</li></ul></li><li>
Restorative Practice training preferred - but not required</li><li>
CPI training preferred - but not required</li><li>
Trauma-informed training, preferred - but not required</li><li>
Understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with behavior disorders</li><li>
Experience with providing guidance, motivating, and/or mentoring students required</li><li>
Experience and knowledge of quality instruction and classroom management</li><li>
Establishes positive relationships with students, parents, and school personnel</li><li>
Ability to communicate well at various levels with students, parents, and school personnel</li><li>
Evidence of a positive attitude and human relation skills</li><li>
Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters</li><li>
High level of flexibility</li><li>
Strong work ethic</li></ul>
REPORTS TO: Building Principal 
START DATE: 8/24/2026 
SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day as determined by the building principal 
SALARY RANGE: $58,879 - $70,654 
BENEFITS: Single Subscriber or Full Family Benefits 
WORK SCHEDULE: 190 days (School Calendar+)

We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD). We are unique in that our schools are all located within a single campus setting with the exception of the Middle School which is located 1 mile south of the main campus.
