</b></div><div>The Education, Career, and Enrichment (ECE) department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. The Assertive Community Engagement &amp; Success (ACES) program seeks a Court Advocate who can appear in court with participants who have active court involvement, develop relationships with court stakeholders, and write court advocacy letters on behalf of engaged participants.<br>
</div><div></div><div>The young people ACES serves will be engaged in high-risk behaviors. ACES serves young men ages 16-24 who reside in East Harlem and the South Bronx.<br>
</div><div></div><div>By developing long-term, multi-year relationships with young people, CASES will meet the young people where they are (literally, with extensive services in the community) to open new opportunities. The safety of our participants and staff is paramount as we continue to see our work make an impact and grow.<br>
</div><div></div><div>This position requires flexibility as court dates, call times and locations vary. In-person court appearances are expected.<br>

</li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with court stakeholders which includes regular presentations to stakeholders including but not limited to judges, defense attorneys, prosecutors and probation officers
</li><li>Accompany participants to court appearances and be prepared to speak on record on behalf of participants and their engagement with the ACES program
</li><li>Participate in programming where appropriate &ndash; running groups for participants explaining the criminal legal system
</li>Collect and record data (re-arrests, warrants, program noncompliance, etc.) and track participants&rsquo; cases until final disposition<br>

Job Summary:</b></p><p>
CASES is currently seeking an Assistant Team Leader to join a new initiative, the Intensive Services Unit (ISU) within the Pretrial Services Department. In their role, the Assistant Team Leader will provide direct supervision and clinical support to four (4) staff members during the night shift in Manhattan Criminal Court. The oversight will be of a unique team who are building and maintaining a caseload from the courtroom to the community nightly. The Assistant Team Leader will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the team with the additional support of the Director of Arraignments.</p><p>
The Intensive Services Unit (ISU) initiative will implement innovative approaches to working with individuals who have been placed in the Supervised Release Program and experience more extensive needs and challenges that may impact daily functioning and overall program engagement. The ideal candidate for this position will work well as part of a coordinated clinical team actively assisting all team members. The focus group of program participants manage challenges in mental health, substance use, employment, and medical health. The team promotes proactive, sustained engagement in the community as a catalyst to individual transformation by bridging participants to community partners and resources eager to support our participants in realizing their greatest potential.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Salary: </b>The salary for the Assistant Team Leader role is $77,000 - $79,000 per year.</p><p><b>
Shift Hours: </b>This position is full-time working Saturday-Wednesday from 5pm to 1am.</p><p><b>

What you will be doing:</b></p><ul><li>
Provide clinical and administrative oversight of a team of four (4) and growing.</li><li>
Support the overall clinical and administrative operations of the community supervision, case management, peer support, health, and rehabilitation services.</li><li>
Be flexible and innovative in the first of its kind position at CASES, where you will oversee staff who will work in the courtroom and the community.</li><li>
Provide support to staff who will be in the community from 5pm-9pm.</li><li>
Manage a specialized caseload of program participants who present with significant behavioral health needs, co-morbid conditions and/or complex presentations requiring collaboration with various partner providers.</li><li>
Provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and gender-responsive services.</li><li>
Assess participant&rsquo;s; immediate needs, legal circumstances, substance use, mental health, trauma, psychosocial, vocational, educational, and housing needs to complete assessments and develop service plans.</li><li>
Assistant Team Leader will conduct in-person field-based services in the community with team members to support staff in their work with participants with elevated risks and needs, when needed.</li><li>
Provide transitional support for clients to their home, shelters, treatment programs and/or other services to ensure and secure connection to programming.</li><li>
Work regular schedule and adhere to schedule changes to ensure SRP consistently maintains coverage for all court shifts; perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors and senior staff.</li><li>
Assist clients with linkages to and systems navigation within the behavioral health, human services, and criminal justice systems as appropriate Conduct outreach to families and significant others to gather collateral information for service planning.</li><li>
Use evidence-based counseling approaches to develop a rapport with participants and develop insight into specified need areas.</li><li>
Take leadership in management of high risk and complex care cases, including conducting direct work in the community and with other members of the team as needed to manage risk.</li><li>
Complete assessments, progress notes and program data reporting as required by program funders.</li><li>
Develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with judges, prosecutors, defense counsel, and other court partners to facilitate program admissions and maintain CASES 'credibility in the Manhattan Criminal and Supreme Courts.</li><li>
Help ensure we maintain a safe working environment by reporting any hazards or unsafe conditions, e.g., liquid spill in hallway, to the appropriate facilities staff member or supervisor.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
What we are looking for:</b></p><ul><li>
Master&rsquo;s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or similar fields preferred or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Social Work with 3-4 years Supervisory experience.</li><li>
At least three years of experience working in human services with individuals with serious mental illness and those with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. As well as working in the field.</li><li>
Experience understanding various evidence-based models and theories pertaining to psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, serious mental illness and recovery.</li><li>
Experience understanding family systems based on diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.</li><li>
Highly organized and self-motivated.</li><li>

The mission of the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) is to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation, and create opportunities for success in the community. In a joint effort to accomplish this mission, CASES &amp; the NYC Mayor&rsquo;s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Program Manager with excellent communication and analytical skills. Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Diversion and Transition Initiatives at MOCJ, the Senior Program Manager will aid MOCJ in the development, implementation, and oversight of a diverse portfolio of pretrial and diversion programs aimed at safely reducing the jail population and providing necessary supports to prevent future involvement in the criminal justice system.</p><p><b>
Salary: </b>The salary range for the role is $88,000.00-94,000.00 per year. Commensurate with experience within the range above.</p><p><b>
Shift Hours:</b> This position is full-time Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm with options for limited flexible hours.</p><p><b>

What You Will Be Doing:</b></p><ul><li>
Managing pretrial and alternative to incarceration programs, including the continuous management of and coordination among non-profit provider organizations, system stakeholders, and other city agencies to ensure smooth operation of programs.</li><li>
Cultivating and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders from City and State government agencies, non-profit organizations, prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges, and directly impacted individuals and communities.</li><li>
Facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholders to continually improve and enhance programs.</li><li>
Work with MOCJ in developing quantitative and qualitative performance metrics for effective program oversight, quality assurance, policy decisions, and internal and external communications.</li><li>
Work with MOCJ&rsquo;s Policy and Justice Operations Department, and under the direction of the ED of Diversion and Transition Initiatives, assist in developing and implementing new interventions to address unmet diversion needs of people with open criminal legal system cases.</li><li>
Implementing along with MOCJ Research, quantitative and qualitative data reporting templates track program outcomes.</li><li>
Implementing data practices with service provider organizations including reviewing program data on an ongoing basis and reporting on progress and outcomes.</li><li>
Managing communications and administrative support as needed, including but not limited to preparation of meeting materials, responding to stakeholder inquiries, scheduling meetings, site visits and other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><b>
What We Are Looking For:</b></p><ul><li>
A BA in relevant field required with a Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred, plus minimum four years (or minimum 3 years with city government or 2 with MOCJ) of full-time professional experience in criminal justice, social services, or a related field;
</li><li>Experience working in the courts and/or diversion programs strongly preferred.
</li><li>A thorough knowledge of the criminal justice system in in New York City including its operations and actors.</li><li>
Demonstrated operational leadership and success designing and implementing innovative criminal justice programs.</li><li>
Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills, with ability to design and implement large-scale, long-term strategic plans.</li><li>
Ability to provide thought leadership on areas of emerging concern, informed by knowledge of the day-to-day operations of criminal justice processes and the criminal justice system in New York City.</li><li>
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.</li><li>
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to take initiative, problem solve, prioritize, work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;</li><li>
